'Rust belt' vehicles need brakes and rotors long before the brake friction material EVER wears out. In its defense, this VW TDI sat for an extended period of time before, during and after the emission recall. And it is from NY, which is worse in our experience. But this is bad.

Typical on that rotor. Almost always on the inboard side. Pad slides get gummed up and pads stop sliding easily. Typical brake maintenence every spring is to pull pads, clean the crap out and relube. Most people dont, and that's what you're left with after a while.

Reminds me of a Cummins I worked on when I worked at a Dosge dealer. It was a farm truck, his air filter got completely plugged, then wet, the filter came apart, and the turbo ingested it and the metal mesh from the air filter. Needless to say he was complaining of low power and engine noise when he did give it some throttle. That was an expensive bill for a new turbo and intercooler.

Pretty common for brakes & rotors to look like that. Part of my point was someone just recently installed new brakes with the rotors looking like that. I see it quite often.

Buddy of mine had an injector go bad and the FCA was stuck too. Got all that buttoned up and thought, I better check the filter. Sure enough...

Sad part is I put all new Bosch injectors in 18 months ago.

Reason I ask is it could be any thing from b2 to b20 from the pump depending on where he got fuel and what they bought from the rack. And to my understanding water will not separate to the bottom of high blend bio fuels.
