I'll check that out but at this point I'm tired of waiting I want to drive this thing lmao

I just made my own for the same reason. Fabing up your maf sensor mount was the hardest part. PPE sells a nice one. I ended up using a 90 to a 45 to another 45. Should have went 90-45-30 but was in a hurry. The last 45 pointed the filter down more then my likings

I'll look into that maybe, I was gonna get just a 90 and a 45. Probably will need that third bend. I'm gonna make a box to. Anyone have an opinion on using the stock filter in a custom box? Or in some way use two stock filters.

I kinda figured. I work in a fab shop and those welds on the 1/4"? look different than most out of the garage welds.

Lol yeah its 1\4. I weld alot of weird stuff. I build commercial pole and spool trailers. On our pt(pole trailer) the hinges to tailgate skin is 1" to 12 guage lol. Alot of out of position and hot welding. Nice to use the shop for myself. That's a profab up pipe flange but I made the t4 myself at work. On my intake I'll have to use a friends tig as we don't have one at work.

Bump for opinions on using the stock filter in a custom box??
No. If you wanna be cheap and still filter good pick up a napa 6637 round filter. I think they are made for tractors. They flow and filter awesome. Nice welds btw, and that turbo is going to sound awesome, a buddy of mine used to have one on his lb7 and it sounded amazing!

Well I need a oil fill o ring should be waiting at the dealer. 5 inch bends I'm gonna check napa today. Gonna go with that 6637 filter napa. Making a maf bung as I'd have 50 bucks in a steel one after tax and shipping. Finish the down pipe- or start on it I should say. And pop in the tranny t case and drive shafts. Glow plug controller. And as soon as the ecm gets back I'll be ready to race:woott:

It had a pushed cup for a long time. Funny there was never hardly coolant in there:D
Guess I'm gonna extend and 90 my stock hot side pipe so the turbo will have a straight boot to the hot pipe. And in doing so make it 3 inch all the way up. I'll be cutting off the reducer and welding on 3 inch aluminum pipe I'm still tracking down.

I like how you utilized the factory down pipe clamp. That would be handy as hell.

Well I converted it to a 4 inch v band from the factory size v band. But yes was not gonna weld it or put a horse shoe clamp there I wanted I easily removable. I can't believe how easily it was to make and with the tranny out it was a breeze.

Got the stuff to mod my hot side pipe. 3 inch 90° bend and a straight 1 foot piece of 3 inch both polished aluminum with beads rolled on each end. A 3 inch boot and 2 clamps from siliconeintakes.com it was 52 dollars for everything. Waiting on my air filter. Got an afe 5 inch inlet, 7.5 diameter at base cones down to 5.5 inch diameter 12 inches long. Then gonna do my maf bung. Is it better to have it closer to the filter or turbo? Ecm should be here today. My daughter was born yesterday so delayed me a few days but i don't have everything anyway. Should be going by next week for sure
