damn... were the valves done when they decked the heads? valve springs?

Decked and valve job. Stock springs. I was told a few times it would probably be fine. It will be getting then next time around.

re-used stock springs or new? I was more so concerned with decking the heads and not doing the valve job. But you never know. Sometimes things just happen, and its unfortunate how catastrophic these "shit happens" deals work out.

Reused with new guide seals.

Valve job, as in just cleaned up the seats? Or they countersunk the seats? Need to be dropped same amount the head was shaved.

When you did the gaskets and studs, did you notice any valve to piston contact?

No and not one visual pit or crack. I cleaned them and inspected them pretty closely.

I rolled the engine over to recheck valve clearances also. Nothing stopped me when I rolled it over by hand.

Sounds like they floated from weak springs or bad machine work. My LLY didn't have a rev limiter, and I'd run it to 5grand just for spite, granted it had the stock turbo but it saw 5 grand many times.

I haven't checked with the machine shop. I figured that would just be a dead end. As they will probably say they did what do needed to be done. I'm trading it off and cash for Corbins regular cab.
