Just an update to anyone listening. Got my ecm today. So I'm gonna pop in the t case and shafts. Lower it back off the lift. Get it started flush the cooling say a few times. Clean out my black coolant jug. Put on my new afe filter, And take it through a heat cycle or two. Then go to a buddies, tig my hot pipe extention adapter on. And I think other then the getting the maf bung done. I think it will be finished.

I will I'm excited to know how that 475 is gonna act with my zf. As I can keep it in the spool zone fairly easy because I pick my gears anyway. I know u can powershift a zf very easily meaning full throttle shifting. Plus my new clutch I'm just overall excited I guess. This is definitely a step above the old 6.2 6.5 trucks I had that's for sure.

BTW any opinions on maf location? Right by the filter like stock?

I would put it right where the red circle is.

I would do the maf on the bottom side to keep the clean look up top. Won't be a performance difference just rotating it.

I would put it on the bottom too, but I didn't have an angle to draw the circle on the bottom.

If you mount it on the bottom make sure you mount it where the sensor opening faces the filter.

This^^

I had a duramax last week with drivability problems. They put a cold air on it 10 months ago and had the maf backwards the entire time..

Thanks a bunch guys. Got her fired up today! Just need to look up how to wire up that dang glow plug controller I always forget. I laid the maf sensor by the filter I know it won't work ideal or at all I just wanted to run it. Very suprised to hear my non strapped floater plate is way quite than my strapped one??
Anyway wouldn't Rev up all the way and the charger wasn't cracking over at a free rev. I know it won't completely light without a load but it was barely whistling. I clamped the maf sensor in the end of the intake tube and oh boy. Great response great sound out of the true full 4 inch exhaust. I need to tig my hot pipe tomorrow, and put my maf bung on the bottom of that tube thanks for the advise guys. Can't wait to get some videos up .

Got her fired up again Tigged my hot pipe. Made and installed a maf bung. Was gonna back it out and my shifter stub was In my other car:mad:. So no drive yet but it whistles. Seems like it has trouble free reving to over 3500 rpms. It did this when the maf wasn't hooked up in the pipe it just was laying there. I installed it faced the right way. And the engine wasn't warmed up all the way so maybe that had something to do with it. I'll find out tomorrow when I drive it. I have an exhaust leak to track down also.

Duramax tuner did the tuning I left a note that said 5 inch intake(rescale maf). Exactly like that lol.

I wouldnt let that idiot tune my lawnmower. Give a call to a tuner from this site if you want that thing to run the way it should. And it wont build any boost free revving it. That charger has to be under load to make any boost.

I already had his ecm so it was a budget thing at this point. Maybe when I get some more money I'll get some tuning from kori

You have a pre tuned ecm? How is he supposed to make any changes? The MAF is never right on the first try btw. Not all 5" intakes are the same, nor is MAF location.
