The 475s are loud whistlers. Pulling a trailer up long hills it would make people roll their own windows up lol but I loved the shit out of it. An s480 is much quieter

I agree, and I think the 8 blade cast wheel is what makes the s480 quieter than the s475 with a 7 blade... The billet 6 blade in my brother's s475 REALLY screams!
You could buy a billet 11 blade drop in s475 compressor and probably quiet it down a good amount...
really? because I love the whistle and all, but it was starting to really work on me after about 2 hours of driving on hilly roads.

That whistle can get to ya but on the other hand it's just plain bad @ss

oh I dunno, about 5-6 years. I work part time in a fab shop actually. thanks for the compliments. truck is not my daily driver and I am having a heck of a time letting it sit.

Works well. I noticed no difference jumping up in size, just more power on the top end and less whistle.
My 6 blade billet wheel whistles less than the cast at lower rpms and might be a smidge louder when boosted up.

So. This is a great thread,, I am going to attempt to do the same as you just did,S475 over the stock IHI. Just wondering if you ever got it to spool up like you wanted and did the regulator on the waste gate work?
