How far does a healthy sportsman get you? My current cp3 dips down to 21k at about the 1/8th and pulse drops down to 2500 to try and bring rail back up. It usually comes back up around the end of quarter.

Mine is brand new and holds my 30 overs and stock turbo with no drop in rail. But it's not much over stock. So it can't be pushed too far

What injector size are you going to do? 60 overs require a 12mm. I'm running 40 over LBZ tips in my LMM and Mark even told me to go 12mm. I know that if I ever went to 60's the 10mm wouldn't be enough. I elected to suffer once and go for the 12mm. I might have been ok on the 10mm, but if not I'd be super pissed.

Just because I go 45 or 60s doesn't mean I'm going to max them out on stock motor right?
I would go larger injectors to pull timing and keep the fuel in the bowl and stay that 650hp range.

it's your $$ :) IMHO you're going to build it soon and will be replacing anything other than a 12mm when you do. Based on the rail pressure (lack) you were quoting in the 1/4mi run, I'm surprised that you haven't nuked a piston yet.

When the turbo blew I thought I blew the motor at first lol. Why would lack of rail pressure cause a piston to crack?

It would only do so with really piss poor tuning.

Gotcha. Still undecided at this point on turbo.. some stuff I read makes me want to go 369 and some stuff makes me wanna go 467.7. Is the 467 going to be way laggier? Is my 58 going to work well with it?

Interesting. Mine dropped almost as badly as his and Mark warned me that I'd passed the point of no return. Maybe one day he'll figure this whole tuning thing out and we can just let CP3's slowly lose pressure and die instead of replacing them when they get tired :stirthepot2:

You look at wc fab kits with the wagler street intakes at all?

10mm will support 100s just fine under 800-850hp. To answer your questions, yes it'll be laggier then the 69 and your modded VGT, and the 1058 is too tight for the 467 IMO. It will work decently for the 69.

Don't worry about your 58 being to tight for the 467.. (unless your way on top of a mountain) I've had first hand experience with that and I wanted a tighter one yet but I'm at sea level basically..

I did a power brake boost in four wheel drive once with my 468 and scared myself.. Went up to about 25 pounds of boost and rpms were way up there, can't remember for sure but I never did that again lol

As for people talking about how s4 is stronger which I'm sure is true. When is the last time you've heard of a 369sxe gernading? And I know there's some being pushed to 800+

I've got a buddy on a box stock s366 making 700ish and has been for the last 4 years/ 40k miles with zero issue. Next turbo set up I do will be a 369

Alright mind made up. 369sxe and a new pump. It should still be a good 100hp stronger than my last setup. With my weight at 6800lbs and trap speed it was putting me around 530hp with the weak cp3. Just need to decide now on sportsman to get that 650hp and dual pumps when she blows or 10mm now.

TX of course
Mark has made several post about liking stroker over dual setups. I like a clean engine so I went with a stroker too. The 12mm is only $500 more then the 10mm. Got to pick your goal and build for it. I see no reason to buy a small pump now just to know you might need to up grade later.

I'd go for a large single as well. As soon as I get bigger injectors I'll need to get rid of my sportsman. I'll be going 14mm. Can also dual over that on if I ever run out...
