If I could remember I would but can't :( it was over 6 months ago

There is nothing on Suncoast describing stall for the 1057 3d which came out after I got a 1056 installed in my old lb7.. Just a modified OEM stator.. Which to me says it is not going to be low enough for what I need

it's around 1700 stall and one of the best low stall Alli converters on the market IMO.

I just tore down the ally and low and behold c3's shot! Most friction material is missing and also warped really bad. These are the Alto 1 sided Carbon clutchs. Also had the black steels in which trashed my c1 / c2 drum with chatter marks. Its kinda damn shame that trans didnt make it 10k miles. It had been beat on a bit but max power was 777hp. I figured it would have lasted a bit longer. All the other clutchs look good.

The single sided in c3 can warp so bad they have to be pressed off of the p1 ring gear.

Confirmed Mikes post on single sided clutches in the C-3 pack. Sorry to hear you have lost a transmission hope the repair gives you big improvement.

7 GPZ c2 and Suncoasts GPZ in at least c3 would be a good idea. If your already in it I would do c4 also so you don't have to worry about it.

Yes I suppose I should do c4 since the back half will be off.

Is there something special suncoast does with the gpz clutches that I'm not catching on to? Or do they just run one more clutch on top of the torqkit? (Unless I'm not reading your post correctly?)

Thanks guys for all the info. Hell I'll PayPal you guys some cash to put towards healing those picked over brain cells :D

Besides being double sided in the live clutch packs, they're a different material and design.

I realize its a different material, but was also thinking all the gpz clutches were double sided as well as the altos I'm running now (except c1)

Evan had just stated "suncoasts gpz" in the c3/c4, which led me to believe if I don't buy from suncoast it will be different... ?

Correct, Suncoast has them made for them.

The slotted GPZ's don't have anywhere near the holding capacity Suncoasts non slotted do that's why I said Suncoasts GPZ in c3/c4. C4 isn't problem clutch in a 5 speed so if you have a good clutch in it set up right it will last even at big power levels for a long time. I'd say Mike Graves has at least 70-80 passes over 1100 hp at 135-145 1/4 mile MPH and 108-115 1/8 mile mph in a 6900 pound truck with the same Suncoasts GPZ c4's. They looked and measured just about new the last time I checked them.

Adam, my 1054 has been the best low stall converter I have ran. At 1500 rpm, the truck is actually moving pretty good. I ran a 1057 and it for sure had more low rpm "slip" than my 1054 and a lot more rpm drop on lock up. My 1054 locks up a lot smoother too.

I have run a PI Ml, junk as DPC, 1057, and 1054. This 1054 is the best all around converter for my likings for sure.

DPC may have it figured out for Dodge, but I know of a duraflite that had 3 or 4 dpc before he finally went to suncoast.

My DPC couldnt handle stock bottom end power, so yes in my eyes they are junk. Lifetime warranty isnt worth much if it spends its life going back amd forth for repairs

I appreciate the info. One thing I have found is ~20,000 trailer changes stall point.. There is a ~42% drop in gear on 1-2 shift.. It annoys me when I can't hear shift point let alone see it on a log.
Best example I can give is the OEM low stall my red dually would chip tires on an empty 1-2 shift while unlocked. Went to a transtar 2,000 stall that all stopped. With hardly any rpm drop on a 1-2 shift..The later is what my LMM dually does but worse.. Been nice if I had gotten video of the red dually before I sold it

Yes I have warped C3 clutchs and also burned alot of the material down to steel. I believe they are the Alto 1 sided Carbons. I have pics if anyone cares to post them shoot me your email. I still dont have the pics figured out on re sizing.
