Nick, I'm sure I was overeating caloricly while going low carb. Things like half a pound of bacon at a time & 4 eggs w/ cheese & cream. Just as an example of a prepared meal. I was eating 5x a day but only two full meals like above most days. I believe pork rinds were my demise too. A small bag would last two days. I was def. Under 30g of carbs per day & even tightened up to fewer than 20g/day for a month or so. My other 3 "meals" were snack-sized portions. Most usually an atkins bar or shake. Some of my full meals were frozen atkins meals too when I didn't cook or have leftovers.

So even though I was low-carbing it, I suppose I was just taking in too many calories in spite of all the forums swearing you can't overeat things like pork rinds or meats.

Side note, I suppose I've gotta keep to my word & join a gym b/c I got my PE results today & I passed!!!!

Crap! I need that kalif stuff!!! Not to be gross but my movement s have always been slow. Never a daily routine for me like most. More like bi-weekly.

My wife takes a shot of pribiotics with like 500billion cultures but I can't remember how many different strands.

Steve, eating 4000 k/cal a day and not gaining weight he guess is your body is not absorbing most of those nutrients as your urine test is showing. Seriously look into Kefir ill send you enough grain to get started for free or you can buy some from Kefirlady they are 21$ shipped

So I just keep them in the fridge and mix a little bit with milk? And they just keep growing more and more?

Ive always been right at the low end of "healthy" BMI even since a kid. I have a very fast metabolism. I can drink a beer, get drunk, and get a hangover all within a 3 or 4 hour period lol (I don't drink at all anymore fyi)

No they are in a mason jar at room temp(60-70*) you do need to every day transfer the grains to a clean jar dry of chlorinated water(dry inside with a paper towel) then measure your 2 cups of milk add to jar and stir with an SS utensil or plastic utensil

Ya Mitch even though you are a little over weight eating a half pound of bacon is not exactly ok... I eat 3 eggs and 2 pieces of bacon for breakfast the bacon weights just over 2 ounces for 2 pieces. I would cut cheese and cream without a doubt. Just because you go low carb doesn't mean you are definitely losing weight by eating so much like had stated you simply replaced the lost calories from low carb with calories from too much fat and protein.

I've been doing a low carb diet for about 12 weeks. I'm 5'8" and started the diet at 184 lbs. My 36" jeans were a little snug. Now I weigh 159 and my 32" jeans are loose already. I started back working out 2 weeks ago and can already tell Im gaining muscle mass but my weight hasn't gone up so I'm still slowly but surely reducing body fat. I lost 15 lbs the first 3 weeks and hit a road block. I stuck with the diet, lost nothing the 4th week and from then on I'd lose 1 pound one week and maybe a couple the next. Although I've lost enough weight I still avoid carbs like there poison. Every now and then I'll splurge and eat a piece of bread or something, cant believe how bad it makes me feel. I dont see myself ever going back to eating the way I was before.

Mitch to give you some structure I would highly recommend the Whole30 diet it is very strict paleo but if you stick to it for 30 days you will drop body fat ill guarantee it

http://whole9life.com/category/whole-30/

I browsed on there a little bit last night. It kept saying do it for free blah blah blah but never could find the layout of exactly what it is to do/eat? Is that the $14.95 thing? Just wondering.

Honestly, IDK if I'm up for the all natural, free range, yada yada yada stuff. We have a whole foods about 45 min away and go at least monthly for things for the wife. IDK if I'm up for doubling the cost of eating just yet. It wouldn't be so bad if a person raised their own livestock but to pay for that specialized stuff is very expensive. I'll think about it. :thumb:

I have not been able to stick to the diet 100% but I am down another 10lbs. I have continued to do crossfit and I feel great! I am also gonna try to get back into paleo. I felt even better when I stuck to it,not so much though since I have been eating bread..

Try Ezekiel bread much better for you, does not turn to sugar in the body (no breads, pasta etc prior to a PET scan) changed my diet over a year ago due to the C-word. My MD Naturopath recommended the Mediterranean eating life style. Eat all day in small portions with exercise, went from 190 to 155 in 2-3 months. Skip all the "diets" worked for me.
