For those prices might get one with a fan.
http://m.summitracing.com/parts/der-15850

I have the 15875 on the Trans and it works awesome.

the thing i liek about the perm a cool is then cross fins inside the tube... increasing surface contact area of the oil.... more surface area the more heat that can be transfered..

i run this on my tranny(4l85E -6 lines).. in series with the allison in-tank rad cooler.. fan comes on in stop n go traffic bout the only time....
at idle the engine fan will windmill the e-fan on the cooler

this is my grill opening.. im putting the a/c condensor back in which will move the secondary tranny cooler forward 1.5-2" i dont know if there will be room for the fan..

You are dumping a lot of heat into that stack, I would try and mount any more cooling either down low or on the frame rail. More cooling is great, but you put too much up there and by the time you get to the normal radiator it is just hot air

the logged data from towing is avg ect was 189* with a max of 199* fan rarely comes on.. i understand what you are saying and agree. i believe i am far below that thresshold.

when the fan comes on and stays on for just cruising down the highway i will look at moving aux coolers to a different location, currently the fan only comes on halfway up hills if im pushing it..

I found it was easy to mount the oil cooler down low out of the stack so it wasn't even an issue post 448 is how I did mine

i talked with walt at perma cool about additonal cooling and his opinion on header/tank end coolers and single snaked tube coolers..
header: is great at max high volume flow sucks at low volume flow( oil travels path of least resistance) to is only flow oil the part of the cooler killing effciency.
single tube multipass(serpintene).. 100% of fluid goes through 100% of the cooler reguardless of flow rate.
http://shop.perma-cool.com/2318-Maxi-Cool-Six-Pass-Cooler-Coil-2318.htm
all run 5/8" tubing and can be made with 1/2"npt
and one could put a e-fan with temp swich to come on automaticly and thermostatic sandwich plates or full flow options. as well.
also with serpintend tube style threre is less pressure drop then header/tank setup

Adam if you need any pics of my cooler feel free to ask, I know of one other person running the same cooler out of everyone on this site.

The only 2 qt filter I know of that fits a dmax oil filter assembly is the Baldwin B1 filter, I may be wrong, its been a few years since Ive kept some tabs on it.

Same cooler as in the Killerbee cooler that I have. I only know of myself and Brandon (turbotug) that actually have one and are on the forums.

He is running the stock water cooled turbo, different game than 2 oil only cooled turbos. Might get her hot on a summer day and long grade but I bet it isn't worth doing a oil cooler, just backing off a little bit the very few times you have to

If it was me I would just keep an eye on the oil temps and not mess with it unless you have oil or ect issues this summer

Did you put the temp sending unit in the port that points up toward the manifold or down toward the ground?
