Well it appears brentz wheel designs is out of business. Its a shame too he made really nice quality wheels all the way from 18"-26" direct bolt on with no adapter. :(

Thanks for checking...that's the crappy thing about these duallys is there is no wheel selection other than the insanely $$ American Forces...all the others are narrower than stock wheels...I guess I'll just stick with a 12.50 which I know isn't rated for the stock wheels but people do it every day and I have never heard of a wheel losing the bead.

That's true...I wish I could find an 18x8 or 20x8 dually wheel :( too bad no one seems to make them except custom built ones that are also $$$ so for now with the money that's going to go into the tires I think i'm going to stay with stock wheels.

I don't haul a ton maybe once or twice a year...but now that I'm headed out to the BFE desert of 29 Palms maybe I'll save for some toys and a trailer...

^^^ That's bad ass Ken! Is that custom built?

Yes built by him. Name is Dave Grindstaff and he lives here in Central Oregon. You should see his dolly. Put air bags on it with a compressor so he could change the camber to make it back easy. Great guy and actually a mad inventor at heart. He also builds compound turbo kits for Cummins and does exhausts and other things like gauges, lift pumps, tuners, and most any small performance add on. Very very precise when he does something, good thing it is just a hobby business, he is not fast but when he is done you couldn't do better work yourself period.

I know your stand on the issue James. And I respect it I just have my own and you know it lol. Either way all the three make great trucks IMO just each has it's own use and area where it excels. And for me moving back to AK and probably going to work in the oil fields I felt a Ford was what fit those needs best.

I use mine in the Oilfield for work and so did Simon before he went overseas and a pile of other people I know. 140 000km and I haven't touched anything yet except for rear brakes and shocks.

Basically what everyone posted already is true from what I have seen - lifted Dodges eat front end parts to the tune of $1400 a pop every 80 000km or so, the Ford's eat balljoints and tie-rods, and the GM's seem to be hard on shocks and rear brakes.

I would have just stuck with GM for the ride. In the end, your gonna spend the same amount of money on maintenance anyhow, just in another part of the truck!

But to each his own........:driving:

Not a Ford guy but they do have their place. I'm with Mike, I'm old and hate being on my knees and crawling into the bed of my truck sucks. I'd also use the crap out of the step if I had one. Also I like to see a dmax do this. My buddies 6.4 it will turn completely inside my dmax as far as turning radius. This is a 21' fiberglass boad with trailer and he now tows a 34' 5th wheel on a dolly that he also made and tows behind his 6.4 450. That thing is hell for stout.

Any pictures of how he backs the boat on there?

Nothing that shows it any better he has a winch built into the loader and pulls it on and backs it down with it. Everything slides right into the frame for storage and travel works slick as hell. That's a serious outboard hanging off the back of that boat too. I'll ask him to send me some pictures of the dolly and big 5th wheel that he tows when he has the boat loaded. Thing the entire thing weighs about 30K. here are a couple more of the loader.

I have looked at those wheels and definitely like them. Just gotta save up $$. That link you put has great pricing though. I really like their dually wheels just super $$ too

Neat Thank you:thumb: I'm afraid my chevy would squat like h@#l with that kind of load. I wonder what kind of mileage he gets? I pulled with an early 6.4 and got 5.5mpg where the same load with an 05 Dmax would get about 8mpg. They do seem to pull good though.

haha. I picked up the sarcasm bud :D

It's weird I don't need 6" of lift to fit 37s anymore...hmmmm....

Found something else strange too...I don't have to worry about the motor yakking the rods out at 600hp........

the other damnedest thing is I can't get the transfer case to wear a pump rub hole no matter how hard I try

JK still love you Government Motors guys...hope you like the big dark one in DC owning your shit:eek::roflmao:
