Thanks Mike. She's a beauty alright. 2008 F-350 CC DRW 4x4...loaded to the hilt. Only thing I was iffy on is color and the fact that I don't truly need a dually but sure am happy with it. Planning on tune, deletes, intake and level her out. That's really it. I went a little overboard with my truck and was at am impass as to what to do. Didn't have the money to build the motor and not taking a 15k personal loan out. Truck needed some work (whole new front end parts, AC, dent in bed) Overall much happier with a newer truck; rides great, good power for bone stock. Only thing about the 6.4s is the fuel mileage and the 4.30s in the rear don't help any lol...need to throw some 37s on her or 3.73s...

Glad your a good sport about the teasing. The ford duallys are def good looking, single wheels.... not so much imo.

Well and how long has it been since your truck was daily driven Rob? Not getting into the age old IFS vs SFA thing again just curious. I think that plays a huge role as well.

The fords look nice for sure. Why on earth would you get a dually if you don't need one? Those two extra tires will offset the price you bought it for every time you replace them.

Its been off the road since 09. It was driven when it was raced. Ive only replaced the idler/pitman arm once and that was that year. I never cranked my bars up tho. Put a leveling kit and bigger tires on a solid axle and you will be replacing steering parts just as often, and ball joints more often. Got a buddy whos ford f350s eat ball joints like gms eats wheel bearings cause he has 35s and a leveling kit on it. Pretty common when you search around the forums.

I went through the gamut with my Chevy. Pitman/idler, all the ball joints, wheel bearings, brakes, steering clunk, play in the wheel and was about to have to do it all again...that was at 100k miles...bars dropped on 285/75r16s...must be my luck...if it's like that with this Ford too it probably is just my luck haha

Lol you know my standin on it and how i feel. We've gone round and round with it. I still wouldnt do sas unless for cool factor or rock crawling. 45k on my idler/pitman arm without any issues or toeing in. She still held straight at almost 600hp and ill expect the same at 700hp, all with the 37s. Everyone has their opinions though or what they find to work. Just depends

I know your stand on the issue James. And I respect it I just have my own and you know it lol. Either way all the three make great trucks IMO just each has it's own use and area where it excels. And for me moving back to AK and probably going to work in the oil fields I felt a Ford was what fit those needs best.

That's called the short guy step for folks like me Mike  yeah it has it. I don't hardly ever use it though. Can't wait to get the goodies on it but it does have some decent pick up for a stock truck

I would use the shit out of it. I think it's a great idea. Of course I'm short also.

I used it today when I was loading stuff in the back. Haven't used the stick/handhold thing though. I usually just hop up there like a monkey cause I still have a young back  I'm sure as I age I'll be using it more and more though lol.

well i guess your dad took it rather well about you coming out...

i have always liked the look of the Fords, was looking for one when i got back from Japan but all they had were the 6.0s and i wouldnt own one of them if you paid me to drive it. but the 6.4s are good trucks.

oh and go with a super single. would look sick but im sure they arent cheap. of you could do semi truck tires.

I was wondering if that step thingy worked.

I was going to stop by a Ford dealer and try it, but I couldn't find any high-heel shoes in a size 12 ...

:spit::spit::roflmao:

Thanks Kevin. I wasn't too impressed with the color but for the options and price I had to take it :D Thinking tint it out and maybe get the wheels PC'd black...now super single or 37x12.50R17s on a leveling kit....if only I could find skinny 40s or 39.5's I have a lift for it...Here's a picture of a leveled dually on 37s

They're available Mike runs them on his Dually

That's a good point Jason. I would just need to get aftermarket wheels...thought about getting some custom ones made from Stazworks but those are $$$

I'll give it a shot...I'm not wanting ghetto gangster wheels mainly just wider so I can fitter a wider tire. I'd go up to say a 20 or 22 but I only know custom wheel companies makes 20s....just gotta look thanks for the link bud

That's being positive :) fuel economy isnt the best but I'm not worried about that. I mean I had a slow, jacked up front end having dmax that wasnt nearly as luxurious as this bad boy...leather, heated seats, 6 disc changer, rear seat entertainment, AC, dual alternators, adjustable pedals (ya im short) ill post pictures soon

What's with that jacked up front end crap in San Diego?
Spent 3 months down there this spring and saw a bunch of trucks from rice rockets to decent diesels all jacked up in the front end like they were going to race in the Baja 1000. Most of them could hardly see over the hood and the head lights pointed to the sky. Looked stupid as hell.:screwy:

Not a Ford guy but they do have their place. I'm with Mike, I'm old and hate being on my knees and crawling into the bed of my truck sucks. I'd also use the crap out of the step if I had one. Also I like to see a dmax do this. My buddies 6.4 it will turn completely inside my dmax as far as turning radius. This is a 21' fiberglass boad with trailer and he now tows a 34' 5th wheel on a dolly that he also made and tows behind his 6.4 450. That thing is hell for stout.
