I thought this was interesting enough to copy over to our board, Pat. Hope you don't mind...no names or sites were mentioned.

Thought you might like other viewpoints on it also....you know where to find us.

I would go over and check it out, but you guys have a moderator over there on a power trip, that likes to ban people just cause there a member or a supporter over here. I beleive he goes by Dapilot.... he can sure dish it out, but cant take it.

Ok back on topic.:D

Drag race in video

Pat, Did he(smith) have the top bulb on? Was he pre staged? If so they shouldn't have been able to make that pass after backing up. When your staged you can't back out. Anyhow if he was staged you should have rolled in when he was ahving trouble. The auto start would have timed him out after 7 seconds and you would have won. Boy I hope to get some races like that next year. Pro tree hard to light charger = your outa here! Jeff

Oppss! More important warning to anyone reading this. If 2EHN gets to 212°F, it decomposes exothermically. In other words, it can explode.

I had a hunch he was going to have trouble, having raced against Dodges before. So I came up to the line, but didn't break the beam. I waited for him to break the first beam, then I did. So I waited for him to break the second beam, but instead of going forward, he backed up.

Yes, I should have just staged then took off, the "7 second rule" was in effect. But that's not how I fly. I'm there to race and put on a show for crowd. I would have sat there until I ran out fuel or he got out of his truck.

But that is completely off-topic, and why I didn't mention names. I know they have trouble staging Dodges, it's not just one truck.

The classes are too small to split hairs over stuff like that right now....the racers in the Pro classes tend to give their opponents the extra time to get spooled in the name of putting on a show.
Yes, Pat....that would apply to you to if you needed the time. All you would have to do is ask.

BTW...the Smith truck went 9.44 @ 143 in Bowling Green this week.....Casper might have to step it up a bit to hang. :D

That is the boiling point, same as water. Don't know if it blows at that temp. Don't want to find out either. :baby:

What it does, is change chemically instead of boiling. The chemical change releases explosive gases + heat. So once it gets to 212, it just gets hotter and hotter then BANG if nothing is there to cool it.

There were 10 trucks IIRC, one of the largest ProStreet fields ever.

And sad to say, don't actually count on the other guy being "polite". While that race it wasn't intentional, there is at least one ProStreet truck out there that will burn you up deliberately. Money does strange things to folk. But I'm in it for the long haul. Nothing I ain't seen before.

I might line up on that red truck again someday. It's quicker on a good day, but only if it stays in one piece. I was quicker in Colorado. Part of racing is building something that will finish the race.;)
