What's everyone's opinion on the converter for the 71.5 Cheetah? I don't know what the built trans has in it but I'm guessing its a 1058, will I be able to tell when I pull it? It shifts firmer than stock but it's not jarring at all and lockup is nice and smooth.

I had a 1058 with my 71.5, worked quite well.

What did you use to correct the paint?

Adams Polishes 3 step process. They have a nee 2 step process that's supposed to be better but its what I have and it works great. He new 2 step might be faster.

Good to hear

I'm just waiting on the turbo to show up. I may order new converter bolts too. My Dads buddy has a 2 post lift that I may use so I don't have to do it with jackstands

hows the ipad headunit conversion going?

Good! Stuff is getting painted this week sometime. I've just been lazy getting stuff to the paint shop in all honesty. Dropped most of it off last Thursday. I ordered an a-pillar 3 gauge pod awhile ago and sanded it down along with the passenger side pillar today. PPE Boost, EGT and Rail pressure gauges are on their way as well.

All that's really left for the Ipad dash is to recess the headunit further into the dash and snap the dash piece on once its painted and run the lightning cord and secure it in place. Should be good to go then.

Nope, I ordered a 5M long led strip on ebay. You only have to solder once, no resistors or anything. Run it around the cluster and cut it to length. Every 3 leds you can cut it.... don't throw the extra away either because you can just solder new leads on and keep going!

LED strip :thumb:

Obviously for our trucks you need to start and go around the trans gauge as well. It's not too bad though.

Did you use the 5050 or the 3528 led's? Thanks!

I had a bad clockspring and instead of paying xx for the the clockspring I bought a Denali steering column off ebay with 87,xxx miles on it. Got the steering wheel, plastics, a good set of steering wheel buttons etc for 130 bucks shipped.

Swapped them out today

Guess I need to get the matching airbag though.

Got the trans out of the RC in 2.5 hours by myself on Saturday. Then took the up pipe bolts off and the one on the drivers side sheered off. Spent the next 8 hours trying to get it out without having to pull the mani.. Ending up having to heat up each nut on the manifold to get them to come off without sheering and the shop I'm at has just about everything. Sooooo we mounted it on his Bridgeport and milled it out... pretty cool and we didn't even hit the threads. It's amazing because the bolt was all kinds of ****ed up because of all the other things we tried before that.

Today we got the trans out of the crew and put the other one back in so that truck is ready for me to sell.

I need to get a 2 post lift so bad. Love that thing.

Making sure everything was good to go.

Didn't have the right bottle for filling the trans or transfer case back up so I found some heater hose, elec tape, a big ass funnel and stuck a socket in the heater hose so fluid didn't go everywhere.

Heavy SOB

You can see the extra C3 oiler on this thing. Pretty sure Mike L built it because I don't know of anyone else that has done that.

And the reg cab has to sit for a couple days. One of the intercooler boots has a hole in it so I need to go get a new one. Also going to order a deep pan for the built one.

Got the Cheetah in the reg cab and 3" hot side in as well. If that damn bolt hadn't broken off I would have been all done around 8 tonight with both trucks. Oh well.

The truck is running again, although I have a exhaust leak under high boost so I need to figure that out.

Trans are swapping and the Cheetah is in.

Now I need to somehow get ahold of Ben so I can get the tow/haul and tapshifter harness back working. Or if anyone else could make me the harness I'm getting desperate

I messed around with mine more. Took the blue out, then took the backing off so it's pure white on my spare overlay.. now I am making 3 led loops so the gauge needles light up a crisp blue.

Not to keep beating a dead horse, but how did you remove the blue backing from the overlay? I've got mine apart now and I'm worried I'll destroy the overlay messing with it because it doesn't look like it just peels off. I love that pure white look.
