Is there a thread on this somewhere? Haven't seen anyone use the strips before. I really like it, much smoother lighting transitions.

Here's some pictures I have from doing mine:

I used a sharpie to get rid of those white lines.

Thank you :D

No problem  I've got some closer up shots of the hvac and soldering joints if you need to know + and - for switching over to LED's. Let me know and I'll upload them.

Waiting on my funds to clear but the 71.5mm cheetah should be on its way tomorrow. Going to swap it in when I swap the trans out.... way easier that way even though up-pipes have been off before.

What do you think this truck would run in the 1/4 with trans, lift pump and the 71.5? It weighs quite a bit less than a CC and they are low-mid 12's on a trans and lift pump correct? Fuel would obviously be my limiting factor with stock injectors?

If I took out passenger seat, tailgate and tools from the bed I would easily be around 5300-5400lbs without me it in (~170)

How much does it weigh now? I was thinking that shortened RCLB 2500s were still north of 6000 lbs...

My half ton weighs 5400 lbs with 1/2 tank of fuel.

No I used individual leds.

There were hot spots so I used 2 blue and 2 red on each side to make the light spread more even

I'm picking up this CCSB Greystone LBZ Chevy tomorrow. Going to swap the Mike L built trans out of it into the Regular cab and put the reg cab trans in the Chevy. Then sell the Crew. If anyone is interested let me know. I tuned the truck with EFILive at 44k miles and it's never been above 420-430 rwhp. My reg cab LBZ trans was stock power level until 107k miles and currently has 117k on it. The tune is the same as the crew cab ~420-430 hp. Doesn't slip and have never limped it.

Specs:

2006 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab short bed LBZ Greystone Metallic.
105-106k miles
He had it serviced at a dealership regularly
Comes with a set of black 18's and maybe a set of 22" rockstars if I can get him to throw them in.
Colormatched, mirrors, handlles, bumper cap etc.
Tint 20% on rolldowns
Kenwood Double din, remote start and security.
Focal Components and I think it has some 10" subwoofers under the rear seat.
Bedrug and campershell/topper
2" drop shackles out back
Interior is optioned as cloth with a jumpseat in the center. I could probably find a console if that is a deal breaker.
Will make a for sale thread later on. Just seelng if anyone would want it.

What it looked like 2 years ago before colormatching and the camper shell. Yes he did a burnout with the truck to burn some 245's off before he put the Rockstars on. I was there and he did a 2nd gear burnout. I took this picture.

edit: The KBB private party on this truck is 24,500-24,800. I'd be asking around 22,500 for it.

Hmmm :thinking2:

Cleaned up the truck I picked up last night :D

Wish I had a reason to keep it. No rust on the rockers, no seam swell on the door bottoms or tailgate. Only thing I see is the front bumper cap has some rock chips, the lower valence has a crack in it.... and the topper rubbed on the paint in the drivers back corner.

Overall not bad for a truck with 107k on it in MN.

With some minor changes that truck could look so good. Just change the grill, wheels, and ditch the shell and it would look great.

god dam thats a KILLER truck! diff wheels and grille and powdercoated bumpers =p and tinted windshield.

Yeah, it won't take much. The wheels aren't too bad though. 285/55/20 duratraks on 20" Eagle Alloys. The rear bumper is already painted to match, the front just needs a little help

Yep. I'm just going to keep it the way it is for whoever decides to buy it. Although my buddy that bought that graystone reg cab that we are shortening might want the shell. Good thing is the bed has had some decoys and a square bale or two and that's it. The bedliner looks brand new.

What's everyone's opinion on the converter for the 71.5 Cheetah? I don't know what the built trans has in it but I'm guessing its a 1058, will I be able to tell when I pull it? It shifts firmer than stock but it's not jarring at all and lockup is nice and smooth.

Yeah I'll try to get some tomorrow.

I love my 58. its one of the nicest converters for the street and I have no problem with my s472 with it. idk how itll do with the cheetah, but imo it should be fine

Yeah I really like how it drives, don't think I'm even going to bother with trying something else.

I spent 7 1/2 hours yesterday washing, claying and correcting the trucks paint. It was in rough shape but nothing that couldn't be fixed.

Hood was by far the worst:
