can you get it locally? NAPA has 1/2" fuel line, but its for gas...would it also hold up to diesel I wonder...?

Ben, I have about twenty feet of the black diesel fuel line. I could give you some for the cost of shipping or check out your local john deere dealer. The fuel lines on combines and tons of ag applications use the 1/2 id hose,

ok we got a late start tonight...

dave/heepjeeps and I started at 11:00pm. At 11:00 we basically had the turbo and a pile of pipe and scrap metal sitting on the shop floor. By 2:15 we had the turbo mount built, turbo mounted, air filter mounted, and all the piping basically done. :)

Just have to fully weld the pipe joints/get the aluminum turbo mouthpiece tigged (I dont have a tig), and do all the little things; mount fuel filter, mount coolant surge tank...

I used a van bridge for the intake, tomorrow Im going to cut a flange on the bandsaw to attach the intercooler pipe to.

As for the hotpipe, you cant really see it in the crappy pics, but we did it the NICE way, no ghetto cut/hacking the stock downpipe into a "box"...there is a true smooth/seamless 180* 3" bend right from the v-band flange outlet of the stock turbo. :)

thats for the lb7 (ihi) guys. smartypants, we dont have the luxury of vband outlets; just a supid flange. BTW; not bad on the twin fabbing.

Ive seen some LLY/LBZ twins that were made that way, thats why I said it. :p:

(yes I know on stock turbo LB7's theres really no other way of doing it)

Ben, have you considered putting an external wastegate around the stock turbo to eliminate any potential drive pressure issues? I'm not sure any VVT turbo can flow as much on the turbine side as a wastegated fixed geometry turbo of a similar size, but then again, I'm not a turbo expert.

not sure, havent thought about it yet, but I might end up doing that depending how EGT's turn out with the setup as-is.

Eventually down the road when I have $$$$ the goal is to replace the stock LLY turbo with one of those garrett avnt4094's...

Favorite tool ever is Ben's chop saw. I haven't used it yet, but damn that thing is sickkkk.

The turbo "slanted" is convenient/packaged well for a few reasons and I will probably look into doing similar when that time comes. :thumb:
