Yeah probably. Mine would do that cold occasionally and then work if I turned it off and back on.

you suuuuuurrrreeee you have no restriction with no lift pump running?

I ran 150 miles after I gutted the lift pump through west Virginia plenty of full throttle pulls on hills with no issues.. Then I pull in shut truck of to adjust the tune. And here I am

Pulled codes found P0301 #1 mis fire... When I disconnected the cp3

Codes are cleared.. Still can maintain rail pressure.. Thus "easy shit" sucks

Idk if there is actually a problem or I'm sucking air from some hole that didn't leak with a working lift pump

its possible. same reason when you test an A/C system, you pull a vac to get moisture out but to also look for leaks (vac going away), then you pressurize the system with nitrogen looking for leaks that way. ive seen systems leak in a vac and not leak under pressure, then visa versa. it may be pulling an o-ring loose in the filter head under vac where it seals up under pressure but its a random ass guess

No o-rings.. Oem unit was leaking no one had a good one local so I did this... Everything hose clamp and AN firing is tight

I had one of those filter heads before I got a lift pump, It sucked air like crazy, never held a prime. I don't know how or why before I figured it out I scrapped it. I put clear hose on it once and could literally see the bubbles pulling from the filter head towards the cp3

Did full ecm reflash, truck started then lost prime.. Huffed some either in now rail is +/-100 psi of command and it will driver through the brakes..
:confused: who know wtf happens.. Could be as simple as a air pocket.. Idk I got no manual what to prime it...

Are you able to use air pressure in the filler neck?

To prime. I would use some clear hose to isolate the air leak without the lift pump.
Won't work unless you remove the return fuel line and cap the tank side only of where that line goes. Or open the system somewhere after the filter if your just trying to prime the filter.

Otherwise the fuel or air in the fuel has no where to go. It's like blowing in both ends of a hose at the same time.

If you have a leak though, just blowing the tank will work to expose it. Air or fuel will both try to escape to atmosphere through the leak point.
