Plan tear the LBZ junkyard engine apart make sure it was just the water pump that put coolant in the oi..
Have it deck, bored line honed . put the good stuff in it
Gotcha I couldn't tell in the first picture. After I went back and looked a few more times it became clear to me

Silver lining will be knowing everything else is good and reuse able besides gaskets

The crack is farther along in the in hole #1 vs #3 or so it seams... Plus I'm more able to get better angle at #1 vs #3 hole for pictures
Add another 2500-3000.00 for gaskets bearings and machine work..
Hopefully I don't have to buy a new block which is usually 300-600.00 pending condition
The LBZ block currently has no cracks looks good bearings a hammered at best.. Guess that's to be expected

BES Racing Engines is out of Indiana. His facility is amazing, super clean and he is quick to get back with you. He builds most of the engines at gravelrama and has a deck plate for Duramax blocks.
He keyed and polished my crank and cam including taking the gear off the crank and keying under it. Resurfaced my heads and properly sunk the valves to match.

Brought in a disassembled short block
Told the Greg the main main machinist about the block.. Got the "yep seen that" comment.. When mentioned lost a crank but no visible damage to block so machine block put it back together then block breaks...
