I tried to get a video of the drive pressure vs. boost pressure (guages), but to dark to see the gauges, anyway by 5th gear boost leveled out to 39psi and drive pressure was at 34psi :D It just happened too fast to reeally watch the road and the camera. Sorry you cant really hear the turbo over the exhaust.

I don't quite understand the 34 PSI drive pressure vs the 39 pounds of boost. (I understand but don't comprehend.) Wouldn't that make it bark really easy? Just asking, I am ignorant.

new tune peaks around 40 psi and i would say a consitant 37psi think might need to close down the vanes a little sooner so it will build tht 37 psi sooner right now it not untill 4th gear. seems pretty strong need to ge to the track to see if it really faster

No.. You have to factor in the area that pressure is acting on...

If the turbine has a large enough area for the pressure to act on then the DP can be lower than boost. Doesn't happen very often but can for sure with a VNT.

Think of it like a teeter-totter with 34psi on one side and 39psi on the other pushing downwards. If you move the fulcrum (hinge) you can equal those pressures out.

This is very oversimplified. Expanding hot gases acting on a turbine and teeter totters are a little different. :D

Turbo Bark only happens when the actual boost exceeds the demand of the engine. There is no place for it to go so it tries to flow back into the compressor. This is turbo-bark.

arry this is just a thought but since i looked at the tunes that you sent me i noticed that the vein position on your tunes is a lower number ie more open. thus the less pronounced whistle that i mentioned. but this would provide a easier path for the excess boost to escape when you shut it down. i have noticed some bark on mine if i am hauling pretty heavy but not under normal driving. this is probably do to the high vein position because i really like to hear my cheetah scream :D

I have noticed, more of the scream does occur early on, but seems to fad out quickly in my case, but then, my exhaust also cancels out most noises.

wasnt on the shifts just if i where to step in to it and then let out quickly. i still have some work to do i havent had time to run both of your tunes or even look at both of them. i have been working from 7 a.m. to about 11 p.m.

p.s. i am going to the track on friday but it is only a 1/8th mile but i will let you know how it goes. also the dyno day taht was coming up might be a wash i dot think it is a load dyno :(

Send Michael what you're running Larry and see how it runs.. I set him up with a fairly conservative fueling tune with higher pressure... If you don't mind ;)

Now Tommy.. I have a set of spare injectors heading my way :D Want to try the same setup as Jerrod? From what I can tell the tips from LMM to LBZ are interchangeable. The hole size is just smaller on LMM.

Then take her down to westech and lay a nice even 700 down ;)

I'd just run it on the 1/8th mile Michael. You may want to get with Stingpuller to see how much boost he was building on the line.. He cut's some nice 60 foots. You'll have traction issues with a cheetah for sure.
