68mm , brayden told me on the phone last week . I thought we were doing 70mm .

Whatever is fine with me , probably be better on street and with weight of truck .

Stock tune hahahahahaah , ya just for breaking in motor .

Come on , do you think I can even last a week before I load a tune on it .

Sucks diesel is so high price . I need to put miles on my new motor so I can hit it with a big tune soon .

Well I guess I need to build my motor first .

Short block sitting here , need to install head studs and get heads on it .

Waiting on John B to get me those head gaskets and some othe goodies . Tubes of dealer goop , front and rear seal , and dealer installation tool for both .

Feel free to come and install it Greg .... hahahaha

Glad you guys got it all sorted out, very nice of everyone who lended a hand. I have the tune backed down quite a bit as of now. I'm sure Tommy's wondering WTF is going on.

We'll get her cranked back up soon, just want to make sure we stay safe at first and see some log files (hint:send me the logs!) :).

I think it will be better drivability around town .

I did love the raw nuts of the 4094 , we will see in the morning . It will be missed .

Would like to see it on a dyno , and find the HP boost psi sweet spot . It is said to be 42 psi .

Testing will show what that # is . Been really wanting to know what it will take .

I am putting a cheetah on kodiak also , and want to know what # psi is the correct psi for a high HP tune and everything flowing right with out restriction .

We will see in time here . If not on Tommy's on mine then .

40-42 psi is the sweet spot :D

Glad everything went OK.. I didn't realize he sent me the drain tube and all the piping when he sent the turbo. That's my fault, and if anybody lent some parts out I can send them back to Tommy to replace yours.

Thanks,

Brayden

Jonny,

I can sell you some studs at near cost if you're planning on doing them. Let me know.

Valve Clearance Adjustment

  1. 667477.gif

Rotate the crankshaft to bring the number 1 cylinder at the top dead center of the compression stroke. The number 1 cylinder is the front cylinder on the right bank. The mark on the crankshaft balancer should be aligned with the mark on the engine.
    663897.gif

Loosen the valve adjusting screws. Insert a feeler gauge between the tip of the rocker arm and the valve bridge.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Adjust the valve lash to 0.3 mm (0.012 in). Refer to Valve Clearance Adjustment Specifications to determine which valves that can be adjusted when the engine is at Top Dead Center. Tighten
Tighten the valve lash lock nut to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

Rotate the crankshaft one revolution to bring the number 1 cylinder at Top Dead Center of the exhaust stroke.

OK im more confuesd now  but thts easy to do LOL so is a 100 psi fuel presure guage the one to use then ? and mabey i can get some of tht sweet braided line from you :) it looks like i tap it into the manifold like a pyro ? or would somewhere on the turbo be better ? and a little lost on wh you where swicing pins and what not was tht so you could set up logging with efi or something ? would a 100 psi boost guage work ? instead of the fuel presure guage ? Thank you

Sorry Tommy forgot about this thread:eek:

Yup boost gauge will also work but i would use a electric gauge so you dont need to run a line in the cab just wires

basic set up would just require tying into the exhaust manifold,I used a chunk of SS tubing for about 8" to allow for a lil cooling then ran braided hose to the sensor....Any type of tubing should work just need to adapt to 1/8 npt on both ends

as far as the electric pins I used them to come off of the gauge and tie into EFI to log ......you dont need this, its just nice

if you need anything let me know:)
