lift is easy 400lbs more so you are back to 8200. tires and wheels are going to be at min 200lbs over stock(toyo M/T are NOT light). now at 8400. Those shocks are easy another 30lbs over stock, added lights, plus what ever he carries in the truck and more than likely his own weight in the truck. you hit 8500 pretty easy. Now add in twins and any other additional parts he puts on and you are getting up there in weight.

its not hard to see imho. My truck weighs 8k as it sits.

Also, to avoid dealing with linking/unlinking of my Autocal from MotorOps I ordered a Flashscan V2 and it will be delivered tomorrow from SoCal Diesel.

They only had to email you a code. No big deal on unlinking.

That’s what I asked them to do, like I asked them to refine my tunes for the upgrades, and they haven’t and won’t answer emails so I said screw it.

Ok Pat called and said they’ve got the injectors in, CP3 in, Stealth 64 in, manifolds are on and up pipes in. Turns out the bag of bolts that HSP sent for the manifolds didn’t work so Pat got me taken care of there which I really appreciate. Should be done by tomorrow or Friday at the very latest. Fingers crossed. Will be flying up Friday afternoon and driving to SLC to stop for the night.

Also, after talking extensively with Blake I decided to try his TCM tuning in addition to his SOTF tunes to improve drive-ability and specifically the amount of throttle required for the 6-5 downshift so I can avoid lugging and then surging when it finally downshifts. And yes, I know and he knows, the line pressure will not be modified as the trans is built and the line pressure is already 250 all the time or whatever it is, up from 80.

Pat at Big Twin is a great mechanic and runs a tight shop. I'm heading out of town for a race Friday morning or i'd stop by and say hello. Congrats on a cool truck.

Thanks Rob. It was your guy at ATP that recommended me to him actually so thank you for that. He’s also wrapping my up pipes with titanium heat wrap as well which he offered to do when he called me.

Awesome! Can’t wait to see this thing done. Blake is the man at keeping bottom ends happy! What kind of power are you trying to make with it? I’ve been thinking about tcm tune as well. My converter locks right over 40. A lot of our speed limits in town are 40 here, and it really bogs down on hills then downshifts and unlocks and screams.

Been meaning to move this over to the "Builds" section for a while. Finally got around to doing it. Carry on.

I wish Blake would ask Kat to become a supporting vendor. I feel he'd be an asset here.

You would benefit from it for sure Josh! The LML part throttle upshift/downshift strategy is horrid in factory form. Let me know, only a text away!

Already in the works Tom ;)

Call me crazy but I couldn't stand the tcm tune I had for a while that down shifted easier than stock.

I want a tune that has stock throttle input downshifting and lower than stock full throttle up shifts and the convertor to lock as soon as it shift into 2nd regardless of speed or throttle position.

I can't seem to find anybody that will do that.

If I didn’t land at 7 your time and expect to be in SLC by 1AM I’d take you up on that.

Alright so an update to this is that I’ll be going to get the truck next Thursday night instead of today on a flight from Phoenix as I spoke with Pat yesterday and there were some complications with the build. I want to give him the time to get everything exactly perfect and lined out before I come to get it as it is 1,000 mile road trip to get home. I knew it was a little bit of a rush to try and get it done in just five days this week and because I don’t need the truck immediately and was able to reschedule both my flight and hotel for no charge it’s not a big deal at all. Easier to take care of things now before I get it back here than after.

Also, got my BBX settings so I can get some tune logs done once I’ve got the truck. First day back from Idaho I’ll be going on a camping trip towing a modest 6,000lb trailer but it will be up here in the northern Arizona mountains so should be a good test of EGT control and passing power.
