Guys, my heartfelt thanks to all of you who are working on this. We have a hard-used LLY work truck that we plan to keep running for a very long time, and it toasted it's second FICM about a month ago. I looked at prices and about shat myself, and though I haven't sent it for repair yet I'm not very hopeful about that being successful.
Like @TheBac I'm not nearly smart enough to understand all this but the entire thread has been a fascinating read. I actually came on looking for something for my LBZ and stumbled onto this.
Any, even very foggy, idea of what it might cost for the future "FUCM"? 😄 Looks like components aren't too pricey but a few (@kidturbo @1FastBrick @Cougar281 @2004LB7 ) of you have invested tons of time into this.

Also, these module pin-outs are awesome!! I have looked for some of them extensively with no luck. Guess I have mediocre google-fu.

Before sending the FICM out, open it up and see if it looks like just a capacitor or other component is burned or if it looks like it burned the board at the bottom of the capacitor. If the board is burned then most won't even attempt a repair. Don't throw it out though. There is a chance it can still be fixed. And if nothing else can be used for testing or repairs on other units. I have one that needs a new chip. Trying to get the chip from overseas. First order got cancelled, probably because they didn't have any in stock. Crossing my fingers the second order works. But an unrepairable board with good parts on it can save another truck from being scraped

I'll check it. If it is "non-repairable" you can have it.

Do you know which side of the crank reluctor ring gets the tooth removed from an LBZ?
Look back on like page 9, i think.

Send a scan of the lbz ring, and we can compare holes to the lb7 in pic above. I'm betting it's one before the gap.

Don't worry about that tooth, just bolt it all together and align dots on the gears. Then we can count reluctor or gear teeth.

It's actually, technically, a LLY reluctor, however, as far as I know, the LB7 & LLY reluctors are the same.

Ok stupid question for everyone.. How we know which crank ring face is up? Or towards front of engine? LLY doesn't have key for comparison. And the holes don't match up either..
This help? Probably should have scanned the other side . The side that I scanned was facing forward, or pressed up to the crank gear.
