I may have missed it but what tranny, gear ratio, and tire height? I've been thinking about doing a swap in a Grand National.

The very front has a hook and the rear is held down with these Quick Latch pins. They are pretty bad ass and release with a push of the button. No more Dzus pins missing, broken springs, finding a tool.

Hopefully no one tries to push you buttons and you end up going down the track naked:roflmao: JK those look like really cool fasteners:thumb:

QuickDrive/Lenco and possibly my Gear Vendor as an overdrive. If I use the GV, I'll be able to play with the rear gear ratio some, and get away from the 2.90 we've been using in the Nova. 34.5" X 17w tire rear, 25" tire up front.

If going to be a street car you'll probably want to go T-400, 2.90-3.20 gear, 28" tire. We had a custom Pro gear set cut for the Chevelle/Nova 9.5"

If you plan on driving it on the street use 3.0 gear, overdrive and 30" tall tire. I run that in the Chevelle and feel like I need another gear still. Cruises good at 70, 80 seems a little loud, prob would be better with one more o/d. Considering stacking the GV's to see how it feels.

Don't Lenco's stack to build any number of ratios you want? Longer Lenco lots of levers :roflmao: and a shorter drive line???

Not sure if anyone's done it but sounds like a 4l80e might be a better option. And a hell of a lot cheaper then stacking GVs. Of course tho I May be wrong? How are you guys making these CARs hold the weight of the Dmax?

It has been done, and it works. We just haven't tried it, would like to but already have a bunch invested in the current combo and it does work. I've been running the 400 since 09, and the GV since 12. So it's grown progressively throughout the yrs. I know Russ has talked to Rossler about their 4L80 in the past just not sure how it would hold up to the strip. For street driving behind a stock Dmax I think a well built 4L80 would work. For drag racing you need a drag racing Tranny.

Any combo is gonna take some good coin in it if you want it to last/work. The Dmax is similar in weight to a bbc, about 175 lbs heavier. Go with bb springs and you'll be fine.

Damn Russ, I was impressed to see the nova go back together as fast and as well as it did...now in 2mo you've got the shell ready to go on the Camaro.... Wow

And the Maro is getting a billet block too?
Dear Lord

At least I know you won't keep us waiting too long :D

Yes. Lots of ratios too.

Been doing some reading on the Lenco's. The Lenco ST/ street strip series may be a little light for diesel application good for 1200 hp and 900 ft. lbs. can be had from 2 to 6 speeds.
All the Lenco all out race transmissions can have up to 5 speeds and good for 1,800 hp to 3,500 hp found no torque numbers for the race transmissions but NHRA Pro Mod cars are using them a bit lighter than anything with a Duramax but running in the 5's....
The only problem I see is an overwhelming choice ratios... :D
