They removed so much material from the port!
That's a night and day difference. I'm sure the engineers had a lot of time figuring it out I'm just curious :thumb:

where is that at?like to see or read about that.

I don't think anyone has a cutaway yet, Banks was suggesting the fire deck is probably thicker. Most of the material that was left out is around the intake ports. I personally don't see an issue.

These pressure boxes are a crappy way to make power. No thank you...

Have you never heard in the tuning world “pressure is King”? This is a great way to add fuel and any delivery area exponentially without running more duration. Now with that said timing does need some adjusting along the way.

Who says pressure is king? If your talking about running really high rail pressures then you're kind of wrong. Sure pressures for certain applications work or put a bandaid on things but pressure in the competition common rail has not really proven to be the fix all or make the most power.

I have heard it several times from some of the big name tuners on this forum. I don’t practice that theory in my tuning but it does have its place.

Gm keeps raising rail pressure. LB7 was 23,xxx and now the L5P is 29,xxx?

1.) What are you considering really high rail psi?

2.) We can all agree that in Fact-29,xxx makes more hp than 26,xxx. So how does more psi in the competion common rail not make more power.

3.) Im not being an a-hole and saying your wrong, I’m asking to hear why you said what you said.

I agree that 29k makes more than 26k and that's where the newer trucks make power that is proven. I was talking more of the above 30K Bosch stand alone. I have no first hand dealing with running one but none of the trucks running them still make the power of a mechanical truck, so I don't believe that increasing pressure will always make the most power

running more pressure means the truck will run cleaner on a hotter tune in stock trim. same reason gas cars now have high pressure direct injection. this is how they are gaining power and keeping emissions in place among a slew of other reason/conjunction of parts

So basically what your saying is, your comment was based on zero first hand experience, you agree more pressure makes more power in the applications your actually familiar with, and that because a P pump makes more power on a Cummins then common rail does on a Duramax that pressure must not be the answer?

Did I follow your thought process correctly? Because my head hurts now trying to keep up with you.
