LB7: IHI Port/Polish

Got everything ported, polished, and vht flameproofed. The baking seemed to turn the parts a little blue like hardening. Hope it doesnt hurt anything. Heres some more pictures.

Are you guys clear coating these after you polish so they don't suffer from oxidation?

Josh,
I've not clear coated one before but haven't had a problem with them oxidizing. That 366 I had on before never oxidized.
I've clear coated other aluminum piece's I've polished before but it left them dull looking. Just my experience.

That's interesting info to have. I've never had any first hand experience with polished compressor housings; I just made an assumption that bare aluminum would oxidize and dull over time. If that hasn't been the case in your experience, I guess there's no need to fix what isn't broke! :thumb:

I thought the same thing was going to happy and was hesitant to install the turbo without a coating. I'm guessing that being it's not "in the elements" under the hood, it's not as subjective to oxidizing. Just my guess.

Just received my 366 cover back from Russell. Polish job is amazing, I'm really impressed considering what he had to start with!
