I only had 2 1" 120 grit flapper drum dealio thingy majiggers so I could only get down the inside of the cover about 2-3" but it's smooth right there. I just whish there was away to smooth the inside out and shine it like I did the outside

Just finished up a port and polish on one of these ihi turbos. All I have to say is there is alot of material you can remove and you can really open up and smooth out the up pipe ports. I am amazed. Hope it's a runner for sure. Just need to get the shaft balanced with the new wheel and assembly can start.

A cordless drill, 4" scotch Brite discs, a sanding stone drum thing for a die grinder, and a wire wheel for a die grinder. 100, 150, 220, 320, 600, 1000, 1500, 2500 grit sand paper. Went wet sanding at the 320 mark and used a ton of elbow grease. Once done I with sanding I sprayed it off with brake kleen, then washed with mild soap and water. Then got out some turtle wax chrome and aluminum polish and a buffing wheel for my drill and went to town. I still think it could shine more
