670/1415 is pretty good. Can't imagine that a stock bottom end is going to last long @ 1415tq @ 2300 rpm... Our rods were perfect as well as the pistons.. exactly the way we wanted them..

Regardless.. Back to turbo's I'd say.

That was a couple years ago. Actually the neither the HTT or the 4088 hurt the engine.

Probably because the timing was too high. ;)

well, and this is off topic, do we want high or low timing to make the motor live

Not that my motor gives a crap now :frog:

Depends on what school of thought you subscribe to... High RPM requires more timing advance... a given.

But using timing to make power down low on a stock motor will work, but your rod's aren't going to like it... or your piston's if you're an LBZ owner.

You said High EGT's in your post.. not Piston temps

Well if you're drawing inferences, what causes high EGT's?.....

My school of thought is pulsewidth.

Why must everyone fight? This is getting worse than the DP! Unless i'm missing something there STILL is only a couple hand full's of mid 11 second trucks. Pat has agenda's or doesn't like when other people go fast maybe? I'm Not sure on that sometimes. Brayden Talks up his work (who doesn't even Pat). I spent about a year and a half fighting my truck not running like I thought it should. Some said Brayden's turbo, some said it was tuning, and some said it was just me. Could have been anything. I didn't put injectors in my new build because Pat kept saying you didn't need them! I went with what he said(he has been alot faster than me). Guess what? The injectors was my problem all along! This is not a slam on Pat. Pats has figured something out no buddy else has or a LLY is a LOT DIFFERENT than a LBZ. It is a unreal differance with injectors! I'm sure Brayden does stuff that others don't like. Thats why I think we all need to try and get along. We could learn so much more if "WE TRIED" to listen to each other. Everyone here has something to add that may know more than others in a given field. I think ego's are getting in the way from some good info. It's a shame. Jeff

I agree.

EGT's are the only thing we can measure currently. No, piston temps are our big enemy right now, and no timing retard in the world has proven to fix the problem. If anything, it's proven the opposite. Ever wonder why I melt pistons instead of cracking them? Working on it.
