The 4094 is a great turbo. If you worried about spool up and difference in the SS housing on the HTT you can get the housing on a 4094 coated and you have all your concerns takin care of.

For the 2.6 Guys........ How does a 2.6 based off of a GT42 sound????

Choked down :D

the 4094 will not kill your truck greedy tuning will kill it , get the 4094 and tune acordingly and you will be fine , and still have room to grow once you have the mods , and i would dare say the htt has the ability to make you go boom as well , i have seen 44 psi out of mine . you seem aweful scared of engine failures to be looking at larger chargers you have to decide early on if its a risk your willing to take because its not if but when once your above 500hp .

My buddy who installed a 4094 on his truck this year went boom lol

I had a buddy and GM installed a stock turbo on his truck (before he got it, probably sometime during assembly) and it went BOOM!

:D

Are you saying if you put a bigger charger on your truck it blows up?

Or just certain types of turbos (those that compress air) cause engine failures?

It has a 2.654 inducer and I recall someont saying that it is legal with a bushing? I have never sled pulled so I dont know all the rules. Anybody know?

Most organizations are allowing the 66mm chargers in 2.6 class last I heard, unless something has changed. Both the HTT and it's clone the Silver Bullet are sometimes a few thousandths over the limit. Usually the plug they use won't fit.

The standard size 2.6in plug is 2.650in. The problem arises with the HTT's and silver bullets when someone complains about a truck being illiegal after they hook, and all of a sudden the plug fits just fine since it's now hot and has expanded. I seen a couple of guys at Scheids this years dumping water on the compressor covers to make them pass tech since the truck had been running for awhile waiting to go through tech before they pulled. Also since the HTT and clones are so close you really have to rely on the person making the plug that the tech guys will be using. The plug is supposed to be 2.650, no bigger, no smaller. DHRA's plug they were using for 2.6 was 2.62?in IIRC and several people failed tech until someone mic'ed the plug.

What sucks is the 2.6 class was created for the 66mm trucks way back when, since it's an extremely popular charger. The Sledpuller 66 was the charger to have. I believe the wheel itself is exactly 2.600" when you measure it, and at first, the inlet was ~2.640. But under over-rev conditions they had some contact, so the opened up the housing a bit more.

What I meant was a 4094 seems a bit much on a stock bottom end. Then again, people with twins have been running fine for a long time on a stock bottom end. Every truck is different. I wasn't trying to insult his tuning or at least solely blame the failure on that specifically.

When I bought the 4088 from you this year, you felt it would be more on the "safe side" to go with the 88 vs. 94.

It's easier to get into the "danger zone" with the 94mm version, but both are capable of getting there with dual CP3's on some trucks. The 88mm version made 670hp at Westech IIRC with a maximum effort 2CP3 tune in it, and ran 11.8's at high altitude. We had no problems though until we moved up to the GT4202R, and shortly thereafter bent the factory LLY rods.

Thats why the 465 came out, 2.6 legal & flows 10lb more than a 366.

The 465 came into the 2.6 class when the rule that said "no turbine inlet adapters" was removed. Before, you were limited by the T3 Dodge manifold.

It wasn't the technology alone that made 2.6 class go wild, it was loosening up the rules as well.

So Cal.
http://www.duramaxdiesels.com/forum/showpost.php?p=115681&postcount=187

Guess you forgot when you questioned it back in October .

Back on topic - I would go with the HTT. $1600 for turbo and install are you kidding.

I see.... I guess I never spent the time to get my point accross on the other thread....

So what the big deal with his run? I dont see what all the hub bub is about. Looks like a reg cab light truck with alot of bolt ons. We ran simular time/ trap speeds with less parts, CCSB truck and a smaller inducer turbo with stock injectors. i dont get it.....

The truck was not stripped - I'm sure with the 20s and sled pulling parts and toolbox, it weighed as much as most of the stripped CCSBs running. Also Brayden was a novice behind the wheel.;)

You've been all over every cheetah thread the past month or so and I for one have gotten tired of seeing it. I don't weigh in on it much but you do it in every thread on here and on DP. If you got something better, great, but no need to run down another supporting vendor every chance you get. Ric been out to Cali lately and bring some of his hater-aid for you?

Back on topic.
