I knew Josh had problems with the Trans but like Tom said it's behind a different animal of an engine.

It was a tough toss up but I settled on a TH400 mainly because of weight, and price to build. A TH400 is 145lbs. A 80E is 250.

But yes, I did talk to Jakes about a month ago when I was DE aging TH400 vs 80E. I don't need to drive the truck to work and I will race it a lot based on the track times I'm after. Jakes recommended the 400. Rosser has a 400 as well that I was looking at but lots of LS guys here use Jakes without issue.

Engine is done, going to pick it up end of next week :woott::woott:

Bought James' S480 T6 from the Limo, and a turbo manifold from KB Racing. Time to piece together this project!!

Kyle is a cool guy for sure. Said a box stock 80mm will go 9s easily. That along with the injectors I will be running I'll have no excuses :spit:

I would think they would just drive like an n/a gas engine until the charger lit, which has a LOT more driveability than an n/a diesel that is meant to run off a charger.

Pardon my in experience with e-85, why are you going to run it? What are the benefits? Is it just higher octane or what?

It's like poor man's race gas. It doesn't detonate as easily in boosted applications.

With diesels, detonation doesn't really hurt it because at that kind of compression that's all it really is doing. E85 is around 98-105 octane depending on alcohol content, and is about the same price as unleaded 87. This is all new to me. Plan is to yank the engine and Trans out next weekend.
