well, if there's two things I'm sure of, it's there's pros and cons to both options...and Brian has done some homework on the subject and there is some madness in his methods

Tried to find a L76 aluminum block. Essentially a LS2 minus different intake.

Youre not going to want to run a stock intake manifold anyways... ;)
I've got an LS2 bare block w/70k miles...needs a hone and new cam/mian bearings...got the cam and crank too...and a 4L70E with a shift kit and billet servos, but needs full tear down

If you (or anyone, hint, hint...) were interested...

What kind of compression do u plan on running with the e85.

The motor in my Mustang is 12.4:1 and with a small procharger and 9.7 psi I put down 640 on e85. I had plans on switching it to a 76mm and 18-20 psi and making big power. E85 is defiantly the way to go.

How easy is it to swap a V8 into a V6 truck? I can find some nice V6 RCSB for a decent deal and am looking into them now. Or is it easier to just start with a V8 truck.

The link Tom provided is spot on. It's easier to start with a v8 truck but if you have the complete harness like I do, it's way easier. I have to repin the connectors for the classic body style, as the donor engine is from a 2008.
Brian, if you need the V8 frame brackets, let me know.

4240, eh? AC truck? I figured my little bomb weighed somewhere around 4000 to start. Did you get front/rear weight bias too?
I believe I have the frame brackets just need to get a set of new engine mounts. Has AC yes. Haven't weighed bias yet wanted to complete the swap and see where I need to work on. I ordered caltracs and QA1s for the rear.

Well dropped off the engine at the machine shop for a build..

Went to a 402 stroker, Lunati crank, Callies rods, forged pistons and VVT delete. 212/218/113 cam from Isky, PCR .650 dual springs, comoly pushrods, head and main studs, new water pump, TCI flexplate and ATI balancer. I didn't want to bore the block because of how little cylinder wall thickness is there to begin with. I also am having the machine shop install piston cooling jets that steal oil from the mains and have a drilled passage in the block to the cylinder. need to keep the pistons happy as well as me :roflmao:

Motor is a little overkill, but that's what I want. :spit: Get it back around Christmas ;)

The 6.0 iron blocks have plenty of thickness for a bore. Besides that a larger bore really helps unshroud the intake valve of the square port heads.

Single s483/96/1.32 T6 from trick performance. Good for 1k. I plan to run about 15-20psi. Big motor will make good power on lower boost. Twin walbro 450 pumps and 1300cc injectors. Proven 9.70s setup on a stock bottom end.

I would be more impressed if you were using a stock junkyard 5.3 with a cam and some heads. Built motors rated.

That is my plan, push it till it blows. I'm doing a Trick 76/75 precision ball bearing with a triple 12 Isky, walbro 450 with upgraded regulator, 80 lb injectors and springs. Should be good for 12 to 14 psi and 550 to 600 rwhp out of a stock long block. If it blows who cares, the built forged short blocks are 3,800...:spit:

I would have ran the stock bottom end but upon tear down #4 rod was bent in my motor. Didn't know a LY6 had LB7 rods in it

Why are you doing dual 450's? I was thinking of adding a 260 inline to come on with boost, but i won't need it, that should be plenty for what your goals are though. I think the dual 450's will cause problems with the regulator.
