I just hope EFI Live doesnt take away our ability to tune out this stuff. I remember reading the efi live said something along the lines of "AT THIS TIME" we will not be taking this abilty to disable/delete away. makes me want to buy a shit load of licences and have them on hand.

They'll take it out of the software like HPTuners did. It won't be tied to the license.

Smarty and EFI Live aren't in the US. Italy and New Zealand respectively.

Basically, what this means is that the guys with the knowledge to write their own tunes will do VERY well.

I am pretty sure the epa dont care. They will end it all. I am just glad I have a couple vin unlocks saved on my v2

If that time ever comes, I would hope the folks at EFILive would put a big warning that says updating to this software will remove the ability to disable emissions equipment.

So heres a question.....let say a person bought a 100 licences now that person could always do deletes as long as they didnt update their V2 (which would suck because there wouldnt be ongoing support for it) but they could always do deletes. or bought a stream licence for a generation of vehicle that they had alot of business for deletes? that could make a person very valuble......

x2. I keep all of the previous versions of the EFILive installer saved on my backup hard drive just for this reason. (if they ever release an update that removes something big like that, I can just revert back to the last "good" version)

As long as there is no boot block change. Unless I'm remembering wrong, you can't go backward on the boot block.

Again, it comes down to the software installed on the PC. Simply don't upgrade (Assuming they did this) and the "Remove DPF Features" would still be there..

Just like Ben said, keep a older installer package for times like this.

Licenses just allow you to flash a ECM, the software is what allows to you change it.. as you know. :)

But what happens if EFI makes it so you can't buy licences until you update your v2? which I wouldnt think they would do because they just want to sell products.

I have duramax stream licenses so theoretically myself and anyone else who has stream licenses wouldnt have any problems. But either way, I doubt EFILive would go to such lengths. If anything, they would probably just remove it from the software update.
