Trivia Too: Gale Banks predicted this >6 years ago. Love him or hate him, he's not dumb.

Funny thing is Gale briefly released a Race/DPF delete flash programmer. I wonder if he got a heads up from the EPA bc he works so closely with the military and was told to pull it. I only saw 1 advertisement for it then it vanished...

The market is far too lucrative for someone not to continue doing it. All that's going to happen is that it's going to get increasingly difficult for the end user.

This totally reminds me of when everyone was stealing DirecTV back in the day. As it got harder and harder, more people dropped out.

Banks never released it.

There is a huge difference between on the street and on the track. The EPA knows that diesel smoke is not the worst thing out there, so out of sight out of mind (at least somewhat). People at diesel events don't care how much smoke there is, and while there are pictures and videos that make it out, they don't piss people off to the level as getting smoked out does. No, that isn't the only (or even the main) thing driving the crackdown, but the EPA has bigger fish to fry until enough people are pissed off and bitching to the EPA. Smoking out streets moves you up the list and you are stupid if you believe otherwise.

To hell with the Government I say!!!! They are gonna have all of us drinking out of a sippy cup before long. Big Brother is always making bs up because of stupid people. There was a shooting the other day with the Kansas City Chiefs and the Govenor claimed the two people involved would still be alive if they didn't have access to a gun. This is complete bullshit! What they want to do is take away our guns because big brother. Oh also there was a shooting 150 mile from where I live that happened last week. The guy shot a lady with a bow and arrow or crossbow...... next they will be wanting to take away that. Its too bad this is what is happening all around but its not gonna be long before they get what they are asking for........ Crazy Rednecks are not gonna put up with the bullshit! Enough said.:D

I'm not saying give up ground on the sport, but we have to face the facts, taking that stuff off trucks for on the road (public road) is breaking the law. Even though it isn't that bad we can't flaunt it. Just like when I see some retard acting stupid with a gun, it enrages me. Public opinion right now isn't what is used to be. We need to replace the image of a drunk redneck waving a gun shooting random shit and blowing smoke everywhere to someone that is responsible, a gun owner that is well trained and responsible striking fear in criminals not random people. Performance diesel owners pushing power while keeping daily driving tunes clean (even though the nox levels are up if you can't see it most don't care).
The average American is stupid and entitled. They feel they have the right to say whatever they think and what they think is important, even though it was based on 0 knowledge on the matter. I can't tell you how many people tell me how aircraft should be made safer (i.e. cable news) when they couldn't even understand how to start the airplane or things a basic student would know. But that doesn't stop them from trying to force their retarded ideas on others.
SO, to end this rant, the EPA is influenced by public opinion like any other govt org (since they report to elected officials who report to the masses for reelection). You go blowing smoke in an intersection, you piss off the hippies that much more (maybe even win by pissing of a congress man himself with smoke). They start bitching, and when people bitch the govt has to keep them happy. And they see the smoke so that has to be so much worse to the air than nox in their mind and that is all that matters. So hold the ground, fight the EPA when it is BS, but don't be a retard and ruin it for the rest of us by destroying what little public opinion is left of the sport

I dont get where people think its just a on road deal. All the construction and farm machinery have dpfs just like the trucks. Hell some of them even have urea. So what makes it right for trucks to have them deleted off road? The reason the trucks are getting hit so hard is there the ones doing deletes the most.

People seem to think it is just on road trucks that blow smoke everywhere catching all of the EPA's attention, but that simply isn't the case. Look at the link below showing all of the money the EPA is awarding for their clean diesel projects. http://www.epa.gov/cleandiesel/newsroom.htm They have been pretty active for the past year and a lot of their grants are going towards cleaning up emissions from city buses, tractors, street sweepers ect...the diesel truck community is just getting sucked into it as well. It isn't the people in trucks blowing smoke on the streets causing this, it is all of the diesel community that chooses to remove all of their emissions equipment, on or off road. I am guilty of it myself, and I am not bitching about it. It is the nature of the beast. Eventually they were going to catch on to EVERYONE that is removing their emission equipment, not just the "coal rollers" on the street. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion though.

If the EPA was truly concerned with any of the removing exhaust components they would impose a federal inspection method that is actually acted on. Why is it that I can register my truck/car in FL and have absolutely no inspection, but here in NJ, I am subjected to sniff tests on the car? Or, the reverse, Kali has the higher inspection standards than the federal govt, craziness. (I know its a federal law to remove or tamper, but no local cop knows that sorta stuff)

And to add to the stupidity, if your car/gas truck is a OBD2, all you get is a diagnostic scan, no sniff test. So, learn how to use HP tuners and voila your barely idling cammed gas guzzler just passed with flying colors. Absurdly stupid.

The EPA does knee jerk reactions to prove to the public they are worth the money.

I find it funny for those bashing the EPA, if i was to buy the lot next to you and dump 500 gal of waste oil on it they EPA would be your best friend. No, smoke is not the same thing, but in the eyes of the average person it is and perception is reality. You smoke out an intersection so bad that the priuis owner can't see in front of them, well guess what they get pissed and write a letter to their congressman/the EPA. Even if this only happens once out of 250 times some kid smokes out a street those add up. Now the EPA is going to do their job and go hammer some people to keep the general public happy. Doesn't take a genius to go search around, and find lots of vids of it, and what, what’s this a smoke vid tied back to a retailer? easy target.
The is America, you have freedoms. but your right to swing your fist stops at the other person's face. You don't have a right to go ruin people's day by smoking out an intersection on a public road. Until the retards figure this out the EPA is going to keep playing whackamole to whatever is either producing the most pollutants, or what public opinion thinks is producing the most pollutants

The EPA is like any other govt organization, they act on both on fact and perception. I'm willing to bet if the perception and complaints were not there they would go after something else. I'm sure this isn't the only reason, but it sure helped move it up the list
