So if you had to pick only 3 guns to have (that can actually be purchased and legally owned), placing the most versatile all-rounder must have, as number 1 what would they be? You know for all occasions hunting (all), Zombie Apocalypse and just that flavor of bad-assness you want around the house! So come on I know we have a bunch of qualified law enforcement, military, and Americas best good ol'boys on this fourm.....

I love my Sig SP2340 .40 cal. Balanced, accurate, never misfired once on me, even with cheapo plinking ammo. Plus the .40 cal has the knock down of the .45 and the speed/penetration of the 9mm.

Sako TRG-42 (w/ Nightforce optics) (300 win mag to keep ammo affordable over the 338 Lapua)
Armalite SPR ar15 (w/ a handful of accessories, or other good quality AR, I like my Panther, but if I had money...)
XDM 9mm (I love my glocks too, so this would be tough choice)

First off the top of my head, not getting into custom built rifles and stuff like that...

Custom guns are useless post-zombie. Popular guns means parts.

I'll sacrifice anything custom for a gun I can still get parts for when they stop manufacture.

AKM-47 or SKS with a handful of 30 rnd+ magazines and a few bricks of feed. Cheap gun, cheap ammo, reliable.

12 gauge 3" (or 3.5") shotgun with removable choke tubes. Bird gun, home defense, close range deer killer.

Hammerless .357 revolver with a short barrel. Fistful of 100% reliable "go to hell".

Love to have an M-14 though. When it's time to send your very best wishes. I have an FN-FAL instead.

Twelve gauge pump like a Rem 870

5.56/.223 AR 15 like a Sig or Rock River Arms

45 ACP like a 1911

I have to make choices by what ammo is most likely going to be available after a post "what ever".
