well i had 23,000 miles and they look new when pulled and inspected.
Even the top ring land? Did you re-install them in your current motor then? Have any pics?

ring lands looked fine
Not the story Arias told me
the pistions went out to them and they looked them over and said they looked new and nothing was wrong with them ring lands was fine. this has been the first set they looked at that came out of the duramax.
They must have been telling a lie then, perhaps they thought it would help them sell more pistons.

Soooo.... I talked with Mike at Arias (310 - 532 - 9737) EXT 37 today
Strange but they never heard of Steve ,AJ or Josh I thought everyone knew you
They had a customer call and complain about the rings...But never was sold a set of pistons... So they didn't know where this info came from and this person never sent the pistons or ring to be examined by Arias
They wanted to know if there was a problem....But could never get any info or confirmation that it was acurate data As far as they where concerned there where NO issues
Whole lot of confusion here guys
perhaps you could tell me WHO you got this info from...Not that i think your making this crap up to make your selfs feel all warm and fuzzy

So did you re-use them then?
First off, I am in no way connected to Steve. I bought a 5spd kit from IdahoRob last year and returned it after MikeL helped me out with a SC 4. Sorry Simon.
But to address your question of wether or not the information I got was true or not, I ask you this. Why when you call them and ask about their pistons the first thing they tell you about their forged piston is, they are a "race" only piston?? Also, no where did I say the arias pistons are junk or not worthy just that they have not been proven for "street" use yet

Lets try this again.
Look up in red. Now read it twice just so it is perfectly clear to you. I never said that is the ONLY thing they will tell you. I said it is the FIRST thing they tell you, which means more information followed their FIRST statement. Does this make better sense? Can you understand the words that are coming from my keyboard?
From what I was told by Mike at arias, the pistons show ring land wear. When asked, he him hawed around on wether or not he would re use them. So to give everyone some closure, the pistons were not reused and are at arias facility. So the moral of this story is, arias pistons cost $2200.00 and that does not include wrist pins or cir-clips. The Mahle pistons run $2500.00 complete. I am not bashing the arias pistons, just wondering what the big deal is with telling the truth when asked a question.
Does this information make you happy ChevyDieselLLY?
