its whats for dinner:rofl:
lol:rofl: you have a xmas present on the way
I would NOT do forged pistons for a daily driver or really any street truck for that matter.
well other then tellin me not to do it, would you mind telling me why?
Some people are scared of running the looser piston to wall clearence required for forged. I belive Guy said Mahl pistons are 1/2 way between other forged and cast as far as clearence. Perhaps he may chime in.
I personally hate cast pistons. Yes you can run them tighter and they can be very strong, but if you drop a valve with a forging you beat the hell out of the piston, with a cast piston it turns into a grenade
Think of cast as glass and forged as rubbermade

so go forged then, thanks for the heads up. is the 16:1 comprestion ratio fine tho?
Loose fit. They grew more with heat. Just for the record if your wanting 200k out of your truck you would want a cast factory type piston for your build. If its a performance motor build I personaly would go with a forged piston and not take a chance. Cast pistons are more brittle than a forged and not as forgiving when things go bad. Just my thoughts for what its worth. Thanks Jeff
... the forged pistons from Mahle are not as loose as others they are a compromise in forged terms.
