Cool fuel will give you better performance, MPG, the CP3 and injectors will appreciate also. Another big one is the Asphaltenes in the fuel start dropping out at 140*. These tiny little pin *****s are what turn you filter black and plug them over time. So if you could keep temps below 140* then you would also have longer fuel filter life.

The only reason I can see is that you don't want the tank to boil, other wise your just losing fuel in vapors.

I can see that. I was figuring leave the factory in the return and add something for supply?

I'm sure it's been tried just curious

Last time I checked my set up on a 90* day after a good long drive, I was sitting at 135*, and the fans were running. I have my fan controller set at 130* if memory serves me right. How ever I have the sensor for it mounted in the fuel return block, that sits right behind the a/c compressor. I am wondering if I should move it closer to the cooler, or even post cooler, any thoughts?

135* is acceptable and not too bad. We are trying to achieve 75* which will never happen. We want to get as close to that goal as possible.

Is anyone reading the post cooler temps or pre CP3 Temps? Since the factory sensor is reading the fuel after it has been threw the engine, it gives us some idea of how efficient the cooler we are using are, but not much.

First trip back up north since I added a fuel cooler. I run my cooler on the feed side, inline with the stock fuel filter assembly. Cooler is mounted in front of AC condenser. At 107* ambient, highest I saw was 156* going from 1200 to 7000' climb, unloaded. Temps at 7000* was 80* ambient and 120* fuel temp. The addition of the lift pump helped drop fuel temps.

Has anyone done fuel temp readings on a LML since they don't have a fuel cooler? Reason I asked is that I have seen melted plastic from a fuel tank on a lml with dual pumps.

I should add, dual stock cp3s, 100% exergys. Fass 150 titanium, -10 hose to a y block, that goes to -8 hose to both cp3s. I have a return block mounted behind a/c compressor, that has -8 hose going back to the cooler. The return block has the stock fuel sensor, and the sending unit for my fan controller is also in this block. This is the setrab cooler that Mike was using

Stock cooler use to sit right off to the left of my air dog in the factory spot (I removed it and trashed it). This is not mikes cooler, I had said its mounted like mike had had his cooler mounted. If by what you say, that the hot air from the trans, tcase, motor, ect was not cooling the fuel due to the factory spot, I should be seeing the same results as trashy

With your cooler mounted like this are you pulling or pushing with the fan?

And do you have the lift pump and engine return both plumbed in to the cooler or just lift pump?
