Simon, I don't know what I did to make you mad but here's my theory.

You can't make big power on stock injectors for long and expect the motor to live. There's no magic bullet, no hidden table in EFILive that is going to make more power without going to a bigger nozzle. That's the cold hard truth. Stock nozzles have to be replaced to make big power. I'll keep telling everybody that because it's true. Not because I want to sell them, this this this this this this..

Sorry to disappoint, but it's the truth.

The dodge reference is funny.. Do you know why the P-pump is so desirable? It can deliver massive amounts of fuel... (2-5x) our stock volume in a short duration. The P-Pump doesn't drag the duration out, the injector is incapable of that... it's a poppet style. They raise the poppet pressure to shorten the duration. Some of the bigger 1400hp plus Cummins' and tractor guys run duration as short as 24 deg total duration!

Along comes common rail, and guess what happens? Guys start melting pistons :) ???? Duration????

PS..... You have 40% over nozzles... So why are you arguing?

I do love injectors and do think they are the way to go.

Geuss I took your posts as a jab towards people that make power without using injectors. Sorry to argue ill STFU now:eek:

Who had stock sticks above & where is the timing in all these equations?
I asked before that people post up Injector size, PW & timing to see if we could get something conclusive....I'll start another thread.

Thanks TNR!

Dave... spotlight back to you. Get that truck goin! :D

I only got a couple hours to work on it today but I got the egr off, air conditioner pump moved and the PS up pipe off. I also got the heat shields off the DS up pipe. I need to go get a 12 point 3/8 socket because the 1/2" won't fit.
Questions:
There is a line running from the EGR cooler down the DS uppipe, can I take that off easy to get at the uppipe manifold bolts?

Does anyone have any idea's about how to attach the coolant lines back together after the egr cooler comes off? Paul mentioned someone used an Acura coolant hose.

Also where in the heck do you drain the rad?

Is it OK to reuse the up pipe and manifold gaskets? My truck only has 10k on it.

Gaskets are fine to reuse.

Yes, Acura Integra house, Ill dig thru my PMs to find the part number.

That hose should go from down by the oil filter up the back DS, over and connect by the pass head at firewall, this is where the acura hose goes. You can remove it if you want.

Just pull the lower rad hose to drain the thing, thats what I did :D

That's how I thought you'd drain it. All of our JD's have drains which is much nicer. I'd really appreiciate the Acura part # if you have it.

LB7 were the only ones with the nice little drain. I searched for 1hr or so for the damn drain until I asked here.

You make me feel better because I searched for quite a while and then came and asked. Off to bed now, hopefully I'll have time to play with it tomorrow.

I sent you a pm with the info for the hose.

The coolant hose/pipe running along the back of the motor is secured to the driverside head with one bolt and one bolt holding it in place right by the rear adapter plate and oil cooler. There is also a big ground strap attached to it.

I did some fancy plumbing on the last LMM egr cooler delete that I did. There is probably a cleaner way to do it than I did(ie the "Acura" hose) but it works and doesnt look cheesy

How much do you think the stock intake is hurting me running this new turbo?

Also I found most of the tourqe values but I can't find the up pipe bolt specs. Anyone know off hand?

Who else? Theres tons more. Several different tuners and styles of tuning.

I started out running a bully dog and nos. then went to the ppe hot+2 and some nos. then the hot+2et and ran 12.99 on a stock turbo no nos and the trans only had a 1057 and a transgo jr and a lift pump and exhaust. The truck had atleast 100 1/4 mile passes on it and atleast 30+ bottles ran thru it. when it let go I was running a wicked diesel regulator and a GT4094R and wasrunning some ppe tuning that I had issues with the regulator so I started running Mcrat tune. But anyone that knows me knows that the motor had the crap ran out of it she let go at 31,500 miles. edit also it had stock injectors.
