You can also get a perma-cool filter head and filter from Jegs or Summit for around 35.00. Then just use standard npt fittings and hook up your pressure sensor. I use CAT filters for replacement filter and save that expensive stock filter for longer.

This is what is on my daily driver as well as the race truck.
Are you talking secondary filtration or replacing the stock unit?

I figured it was a secondary setup. I've got the hardware to do this as I've seen in the DIY section. I just want to try and find and fix the problem that I have and then continue on my never ending journey of modding this truck. LOL.

I tried to do the compression today, but wasn't able. I did however manage to inspect every boost connection again and sprayed each joint with soapy water...hoping something would bubble. Will have to do it again when I pressurize it. I checked play in both turbos. And the wheels only move as they always have, just a itty bit up and down shaft play. I did find that the aluminum elbow on intake side of stock charger was not tight to the turbo, neither does it have an oring. I thought it needed one, it even has a spot where it looks like one would go. The CAC passenger side pipe where it connects to engine intake was a little loose and so was one of the EGR bolts.
That's all I could get done before I had to pick up the kiddos. Truck seems peppier and builds boost quicker but this doesn't alleviate my problem, I still need to pressurize it.

Pretty sure there is supposed to be an o-ring on the aluminum elbow to the turbo. Mine has one

Got the filter changed...it was real loose, finger loose and fuel in top was dirty, have a better filter and a WIF sensor on the way. All I can do this weekend...we're taking the kiddos on a minivacation to Florida this weekend:D

Yep, definitely supposed to be an o-ring on that flange. It will cause a pretty significant boost leak if it isn't there. Mine got torn up once and leaked pretty bad when I pressurized the system.

That's def. my problem then...or at least part of it. I can't seem to get ahold of Nathan.

did you try lowes or a hydraulic shop, if it is just an o ring im sure you can find one local. silicone might work but it would suck to get it cleaned up again once you do get an o ring.

it's just a simple o-ring but it's probably 3 1/2" or so?

that was the one i had in my head. harbor freight has a million piece o ring kits for a few dollars and the go up pretty big. if you could even find a thick one and stretch it it would work a ton better than nothing at all. worst case i could try to get you one if you cant find anything by monday.

just let me know

I'll have to look around come Monday.
we brought the kiddos to Pensacola
Beach for the weekend. I'll look around at Home
depot and Harbor Freight, one of my favorites, lol. Thanks.
