yea I was just checking out ebay, and seen the sparco for 1600. I think his are around 1000 I believe for a Banks. I really don't want to go aftermarket and spend that much extra dough, I've been shoving so much money in my truck lately it's insane.I haven't found any solid data or reports on these intercoolers. But I don't know.

for towing i think its a good upgrade , Rob made good gains on the track when he upgraded his also, i didnt see much gain from mine but several parts went on at the same time. I think its worth replacing but it would be and was last on my list of things .

X2 on my LBZ, but I was soo mad while I was doing it I completely forget how I did it:confused:

I've done it 3 times now on my LLY... but it's not that bad. Couple hours. It DOES involve removing everything in front of it, and the top 'support' we'll call it that goes from headlight to headlight.... From there it's pretty easy once you get the boots off it... kinda comes a little forward after the radiator is unbolted from it and then seems like it mostly goes straight up.

I didn't get any pics, but if you start at the front of the stack, undo trans cooler mount, and keep working your way back it's really not that bad. Last time i pulled the old banks out and put the new one in took me about 2.5 hours with a couple smoke breaks and phone calls in between.

well after being up till 3am putting truck back together....those boots SUCK!!!! I have a decision to make. I never got the intercooler out. I'm tempted to just buy another one, rather than rig this one. My problem is whether to go stock or aftermarket. I really like the numbers and specs and pics on BD's. But I may go with BAnks because it's cheaper and I could order it from a fellow dmax head.....Rob. On the other hand if I'm not mistaken a new stock unit online is half of a banks.

Post up a WTB in the garage section, IIRC stockers don't go for that much used

I'll do that. I'm a little skeptical though if a used one might have very small minor damage without owner knowing. GM wants $685 new.
on edit: actually their retail is $810, he dropped it to $685 and then purposely gave me the wrong part number, asswipe, lol. gmpartsdirect with shipping is $582.

Anyone care to verify the part number? 05 LLY OEM intercooler.........15020380

So will the boost gauge and sensor read accurately installed on the fuel filter head? If so, I'm only getting 3 or 4 psi at idle and while driving.
If I go WOT, it drops to 0psi. new fuel filter, and 1 yr old twin Kennedy pumps(w/o filter).

like i posted in the other thread, something isnt right. are you running the stock fuel pickup in the tank?
no it's a SoCal pickup with 5/8 hose.

on edit, you know now that I think of it, I remember the hose either being a tad long or a tad short, maybe 1/4" or so. Or my mind could be playing tricks on me...that pickup has been in for 4 years now.

are you sure both lift pumps are working ? if i remember right each kennedy should put out 4 psi , total would be 8 psi ?

also Larry Jewel fought a fuel issue for a long time and found out his hose for the pick up had cracked inside the tank and it would suck air .

I can hear them(or one) running and voltage is going to them..? PLUS, filter is primed easily by turning pump(s) on.

so maybe I need to take the bed off and have a looksie.

Let me throw something else in the mix that I believe is fuel related....it turns over a bit more than normal before it cranks, and by playing with cranking inj. qty. it gets better

I wonder if air in the system would cause this as well? maybe that's why I have that damned annoying burp idle.

on edit: just went to truck....gauge is definately working, whether it's accurate or not I don't know. But with truck on but not cranked it's showing 2.5 psi, drops to 0psi while cranking and goes up to 4psi while idling.

kennedy's website says 8-9psi max. Is that at idle or WOT? I guess I could disconnect wiring to each pump one at a time to see how it reacts in pressure to verify which pump is working or if both are by watching to see if it bleeds air through filter head. I'll try that before I remove the bed to check inside of the tank.
