I can't seem to find time to do a whole lot, so i haven't pressure tested yet or installed a gauge.
I did however sneak out long enough to look the truck over and wound up replacing my fuel line from tank to lift pumps as it was flattened out in one area.

I also put on my Banks CAC pipe with a cheapo cheesy boot from autozone...needless to say it didn't stay on long I blew a huge hole in it, LOL.

It was just temp anyway. I wiped down CAC pipe and it's got SEVERAL wear spots where it has rubbed, but couldn't see anything worn through. So I put it back on until my good boot makes it in.
I need to get an o-ring before I pressure test anyway. I'll have to go to NAPA tommorrow hopefully and get the sec. filter kit.

FWIW everything on our trucks is metric;)

Gm would have it in stock,No?
FWIW, that is not a stock o-ring. It is on the mouth piece that Opie makes and Nathan uses on his stock turbo twin kits. I don't know if it is standard or metric, but I wouldn't be too surprised if it isn't metric. ;)

well have a hole in myintercooler. Pressurized it up and sure enough right close to where I suspected. I guess my ears aren't too bad afterall.

right by where the CAC pipe connects, right in the core area. Bottom corner driver's side. was hard to see, but I could feel it with a finger....

so can these be repaired or am I about to drop a grand on an aftermarket?

what the heck is the easiest way of taking this thing out without draining radiator?
I'm working with a flashlight in one hand. I was trying to take that top "cross member" or top radiator support thing off to just lift out intercooler.

CAC is all aluminum, no plastic.

If both tanks are aluminum cut windows in the tanks, weld that row shut and weld the wondows back in and you are good to go. (or have it done)

On edit I don't know if they are welded rolled or epoxy.....you could plug it and use a little epoxy on the plugs.

There are 4 bolts that bolt the radiator and CAC together, two on each tank. They go in from the radiator into the CAC. I have never pulled them seperately, so I can't say for sure how to pull the CAC by itself.

The intercooler can be pulled without pulling the radiator but its tight and takes some finess to get it out . At least i was able to do it on my LB7 anyway .

I got it all seperated. There were three bolts per side holding the radiator support in I thought there were only two per side. I never was able to pull CAC out, neighbors only show up when I'm busy....that's why I HATE apartments, damn it!:mad: Being nice I chatted with em for a minute, a minute turned into an hour. And I can only screw with this at night, as apartment complex takes a BIG frown on working on our vehicles. And of course every night I try, another neighbor will show up.
ok..ok. rant over.
I'm almost positive that it is in the core though, without pulling it out, you can see the spot because it is "wet" like oil and dirt.
So does anyone else to comment on fixing this one if it IS the core and not the casing or would it be just as cost effective to buy a new one?

talk to Rob , he can get you a banks unit for about 600 less than that if i remember right , maybe better .
yea I was just checking out ebay, and seen the sparco for 1600. I think his are around 1000 I believe for a Banks. I really don't want to go aftermarket and spend that much extra dough, I've been shoving so much money in my truck lately it's insane.I haven't found any solid data or reports on these intercoolers. But I don't know.
