Their servers seem to go down a lot. I've had trouble connecting a couple times, when everything else online worked.

Oh, if you want to see stats now, before we get to 6000th place, you can get them on here. Well, it goes down a lot too, but works most of the time.

Thanks for the post, that really helps in seeing if we are getting our bonus points. I must have burned myself by not completing some of the WU's. I got some bonus points but must have went under 80 percent because I stopped getting them. Well heck. lol

Looks like PPD for me went down to 8500 accordingly.

the way the stats look, there are quite a few teams ahead of us that are not folding as fast as us. I'm betting we break into 7k standings by Friday night, and then hopefully pass 6k late Sunday night...If we keep going the way we are going so far. A team I folded with long ago is ranked ~150 with only 30ish folders on their team. We can get high in the points race guys, there are not a lot of huge teams ahead of us for awhile....

I am all for the points race. I cant wait until I get to my parents house (xmas or thanksgiving) to pick up my machines and bring them back and join the fun. right now I am only folding maybe 10-205 of what you guys currently are doing. Hopefully I wont be too far behind when I get up and running. :baby:

Looks like we are well on our way to Club 6.

When we get there, I'm going to do this:

Create a unique name for each client, like msiN460GTXstk or HPdv8smp.

This will give a benchmark for various hardware.

Bad news, my GTX460 is not fully compatible with my CAD software, so I will relocate it when we hit 6k. Tom is getting a computer for Christmas, so I think it will end up there.

The Apple has proven to be a disappointment, and will be retired after hitting the number.

If they ever get the ATI server up both my current machines will start again. I have 1 just running the CPU client hoping they would get the GPU server up, then both machines will start going by themselves.

I've been reading up on folding servers and may build a dual GTX 460 box. I'll start with one 460 and when its running without any problems I'll add a 2nd one.

DOH!! I'm a dick! I had to reboot my machine, so I stopped a SMP job at 89% (about 6,000 points, and 18hrs) and I thought ... "Hmmm, if 10% overclock is good, 15% shouldn't hurt!".

Well, I set it higher. Then I tested it for a couple minutes, seems fine. When I restarted the SMP job, it crashed it, pooped it out, then reloaded another one.

Guess if I'm going to hot rod computers, I should wait until it finishes first... Why must I always learn by autopsy?

Yeah I've been GPU folding for a while now. When I got home just now the 1 machine that was waiting when I left was 36% done. I'll fire up the other one as soon as the CPU job is done.

You can run both smp and gpu jobs at the same time, the gpu only uses about 7 to a high 13% of my cpu while running. I can't tell the difference in time to complete with both going or just one of them. Is yours one of the cool multi-core cpu's like Pat mentioned?

Oh hell Pat. Cuz of you we are not going to meet....

Just kidding, I've mucked with mine so much I didn't start getting bonus points till just a while ago. I don't expect to be able to keep that luxury for long. :D

That computer is a dual core but nothing special and neither is the video card. The CPU is running about 50% right now so the GPU isn't able to handle all of it.

Now the next machine. :D

When I tried to run the ATI 5450 cards in GPU with the SMP, it reduced SMP performance by 40%. To put that in perspective, a 24 hour job become a 34 hour job. Since the bonus is calculated by how fast you return the WU, it actually makes less when running both than running just the SMP.
