Like I said, this is fixing to get expensive.
I ordered 2 EVGA 768-P3-1362-TR GeForce GTX 460 cards from NewEgg for $296.98 total which have since gone up.

I also ordered 2 Thermaltake W0158RU 650W PSU to run the cards that I am fixing to start stacking. These will be supplemental to the 850W that is already in my machine.

I'm not going to change my MOBO or processor since they still work but my MOBO only has 2 PCI-E x16 slots. It has 4 PCI-E x1 and 2 PCI-E x4 slots though. Since I am only going to be using the cards for folding and not gaming, I really do not need the full PCI-E x16 slot as the pinouts from a PCI-E x1 are just repeated 16 times. So, the plan is to either buy adapters which are around $23/piece or modify my MOBO by cutting out the back of the slot.

If I cut out the back, the cards may still hit some of the caps on the MOBO. I guess I will just wait until the cards get here. If it hits, I could just get a cheap riser and cut it.

I also am picking up 2 used EVGA GTX 260 for $140 total from Craigslist guaranteed not to be DOA. Supposed to go pick them up Tuesday.

What the hell am I doing? It's already an obsession.
