I was approached by Justin (DIRTYMAX1) telling me that he could help with my tuning. We discussed terms for a while and ended that I would post a review of the tune he made and here it is.
Test vehicle: 2007 Silverado Classic LBZ CCSB
Modifications to engine: Fass 150, PPE Dual Fueler, PPE Airbox Mod, PCV Reroute, EGR Block off.
Tune: "Widow Maker" MKII Generic
This review is of the second version of the tune Justin sent me, he just adjusted the boost tables and turbo vane position tables to open up the vanes at idle.
Driving Impressions:
The Widow Maker drives a little like stock through the first part of the throttle. At approximately 75% throttle through 100% throttle, the tune kicks in and power grows exponentially. Smoke from a stop is relatively heavy but clears up to a light trail once the boost increases. With as big of a pulsewidth this tune has, the smoke was considerably light with full boost, I was impressed. Boost is at 30 lbs at WOT and very high for cruising speeds. At 65 mph, boost was around 9 lbs. At 75 mph, boost was at 12. At 80 mph, it hit almost 20 lbs. Extremely high for cruising flat in my opinion. Timing was also high for my taste. With normal driving, no injector knock could be heard and the engine was running quiet. From a stop at WOT, I noticed an injector knock surge that could be heard quickly then went away. I saw 30 degrees when scanning with EFI, wouldn't like to see more than 20 degrees of timing on a stock motor. While passing people on the highway, injector knock could be heard at WOT which I did not like. EGTs were pretty manageable, climbing slowly, I cut throttle at 1400. At WOT, the tune limps the engine. It brings up a 0087 code. For having as much fuel, I would like to see a higher pressure in the fuel pressure table.
Mileage:
With such high boost numbers at cruising speeds, I didn't even bother checking the mileage. With a name like "Widow Maker," mileage didn't seem to be a big priority. My estimate would be close to the single digits. Definitely a race tune.

Power, 5 being highest: 4.25/5
Power was very strong but I have felt stronger.
Smoke from dig, 5 being highest: 4/5
Heavy smoke with no boost
Smoke with full boost, 5 being highest: 2.75/5
Smoke clears with full boost
Drivabillity, 10 being smoothest: 7/10
Quite smooth, but didn't like how the power "jumps" through the last part of the throttle.
Mileage: N/A
Overall: 3.8/5
Please not that this is still a generic tune that still has to be fine-tuned. Stay tuned for further reviews as the Widow Maker gets adjusted.
Since this is my first review, does anyone have any pointers or anything specific they would like to see in the following reviews to better understand the tune or just make it a better review?
