As for a stock tranny going 11s, I loved that truck but don't count it. It was a Dmax transplant into a stripped short bed. If Orange Crush went 11s on stock trans it'd be no different. I think the fastest ever on a stock trans is a 12.78.

Not to argue, but wasn't it a just an 06 LBZ backhafed and four linked?

I could be wrong but I was thinkin he ran a built AL85, but that as in diesel power a while back they could have been wrong.

I was under the impression that it was a half ton truck (it had 6 lug front wheels anyway) that had been back halved and had a duramax and allison transplanted into it.

Nevermind, I just looked at the pics in his garage on DP, it had 8 lug front wheels. I must have remembered wrong.

It was done already. Lar's truck ran 11.9x on the bottle with a stock transmission.

I wonder what his fastest #2 time was since weight doesn't matter.

Still sucks that truck was stuck in that fire It was sure a awesome truck.

as far as i know you cant stop it from throwing the code but you can make it so it wont cut your fuel . still might put you into third gear though ?

At the time Lars did it, there was very limited LBZ support from EFILive. No "limp mode" tables at all IIRC.

I don't call that a stock duramax in the case that we are talking here. It has been extensively altered to a configuration not available, much like putting a Dmax in a smaller vehicle and calling it stock. Not taking away from their efforts either.
