This site has promise. It will change when money becomes the priority, as it does everywhere else.

Pat, if you and Kat can keep to a nobler cause, endeavoring to improve the sport instead of making money on it, people will follow along happier.

My experience?

If I see a hint of that money grubbing BS and posturing in favor of an agenda, I'm not waiting to be banned. From now on, I ban the forum, not vice versa. cyber integrity.

Keep up the good work.

Pat and Kat have created something great here and it is a great place for us to be apart of. We all post and thats what make this place what it is. However, I'm a 27 year old with plenty of big ideas and dreams.....If someone waved a crap load of cash in my face for a site, you bet your ass I'd sell, lol.

This thread is interesting reading. But I don't understand how it is possible for one vendor to "control" any policy when there are no less than 60 of them.

The Vendor has and had the owner in his pocket............so when you ring a bull's nose he goes anywhere and in any direction that you pull that ring in.

Want to know anything else..........we're here to help...........:D

Dude, Kat and I have been on the hot-rod boards for nearly a decade, and have moderated at a few different sites. We have more experience at this than many other boards do, more than TDP + CompD combined.

This site was originally created to "store" my tech at, since the DP started deleting and editing my tech stuff, and locking me off their board. Now it is public, it really hasn't changed except added features.

My "tech" isn't for sale. I give it out for free. I have a good job that pays well in "real life", so this is my hobby. Rob (Poltergeist) is a co-owner with Kat and I, has been racing with us since 2000. We predate the Duramax, and watched the Camaro die together.

We are hard-core performance junkies who do this stuff to have fun. Our lifestyle is not capable with screwing folk for a dollar, then it would be a job.

Just so you know NO ONE is faulting you or singling you out. Your only doing as instructed to remove 'specific' outside links.

We're ONLY pointing out the ridiculousness of it because the history as to WHY the Mcswain's are being isolated. The rules and regulations there are in this instance deep into a PERSONAL agenda.

The board rules there are HARDLY fair and neutral in other words. If your not aware Pat pulled his vendor status due to the fact because he had this forum and they the past Admins had a problem with it and other issues I'm not getting into. If you look at other vendors there they also have support forums and also OTHER links to other sites are allowed.

The Garage, Comp Diesel. You have to ask yourself WHY? Well it's a personal issue between the PAST Admins still on staff there.

Once again I have no issues with ya.

Please do not include TheDieselGarage in this thread. I have no problem with Pat, Kat, or anyone else for that matter. I bought EFI from the McSwains, I frequently (as much as I can) post on this forum, and read it everyday. The McSwain's did not pull their advertising from The Garage, and I certainly did not ask them to leave. They are welcome, as they have always welcomed me.

*On Edit* - I think I misread your post, sorry, I thought you were assuming TDG was "hatin'" on the McSwains LOL! I am a lover, not a fighter. TDG links were never allowed on TDP, for reasons I do not understand.

This thread is a good read. I'm sorry I missed it sooner or I'd weigh in my 2 cents as well. It seems though Ive done it enough on a couple different boards so its beating a dead horse at this point.

DP had drama that went on for years. A lot of the rules were pretty much created from 1 or 2 people. Some were old, some were ridiculous, and some, just plain had no rhyme or reason.

RI Silveradoman said it best. He went 15 rounds with little to no support. Now, I dont know what went on in the back room but I know what happened when they sold the place. None of us knew anything. Rick and I were running that site with support from Chad and Chad only. Nick didnt get on much. We got no warning whatsoever. My problem was that there was ZERO communication after the fact and that, and that alone, drug us all down. The board was falling apart in numerous threads and we had no one to turn to. Those new admins got on once or twice a week and evidently never cared to check the mod forums where we had pressing questions and concerns. We were left out to dry. And in the end, I got fired, along with a couple others. Those who didnt, resigned or stuck around. Now, its completely different. Same old crap, different day. I still miss it but I have other to occupy my time.

Tom had valid points there and I supported him 100%. He's a nice guy with good ideas and he's been there for a long time, like many of us.

Pat, you being banned, I coulda seen a mile away. Chad was creating rules for YOU and YOU only. Even the edit timeout was created for YOU. The entire board was being molded around 2 people who had different opinions, on many different subjects. Now, I never really cared who argued about what. It wasnt why I was there. There was so much more inside drama and I could frankly give a rats ass about. I never played favorites, took sides, rolled around in bed with TTS or EFI or anyone. I was just a guy from smart ass north east who was looking to learn about my truck and offer assistance to others. Overtime, the bullshit got entirely too deep and the h.p. wars were dragging everyone down or sending them packing to different sites. No one can blame us for leaving.

Now, I like the idea of not censoring any other site's link. I will not do it. I'd like to establish an alliance with everyone here to share information, no matter what board. :)

Pat and Kat, you guys have a great member base here so keep up the good work...! ;)

I remember Nick telling you, or someone, to "...go back to your garage..." when he got mad one day...That's how I found TDG.

This puts you in the same class as Steve Cole. You are not honest. You are afraid that everyone will treat you like you treat them. I would be afraid also were I in your slippers.

I don't think I even know who Nick is  I never posted on TDP until I met Rick Lance at Merchant's last year that I can remember. I know that Nick and the old owner of TDG were always at eeach other's throat, I am sure it was over something childish.

Just an FYI, Nick is Unit453, Nick is Diesel Power the old owner of DP ,and Nick is also AWDforlife one fo our new Admins. Too many for some to keep strait I know .

Fact is there will always be disagreements and it's best people learn to handle them in an adult-like manner which a numerous members of DP in paticular have not. I think the best thing we can all do is to do something to help rather than continuing to talk about the problem regardless which site we are refering to. Don't be afraid to offer suggestions but do them like Tom did in a respectfull way. He has been around a long time and I for one respect his openion.

Most stuff that causes people to be at each others throats is childish IMO.

Too many Nicks....For a while, there were 3 of us on DP. Myself, Nick D (Diesel Power) and Nar. We often had to put last names in there to determine who we were talking to.

I'm gonna change my name to my porn name of *Lance*. Its got a nice 'use and abuse' ring to it. :D

Folks: Keep the personal attacks on other board members down to a mild lynching.

Unit (Nick) brought up something that perhaps not everyone knows, and while I don't post PM's, I can tell you what postings, phone calls and PM's meant.

Starting before there was a "McRat Racing" (McRat Racing as a TDP sponsor did not sell stuff at first, Kat wanted to sponsor TDP so she could have a sig with picture links in it), I was told that I had to live up to higher standard than Steve Cole and would not be given the same breaks as far as posting went because I was a respected member of the Dmax community. Go figure.

When I first started selling stuff as a paid sponsor, both Nick and Chad publically demanded I give out my labor for free to everyone. There is still a few threads there perhaps that allude to this.

So I pay them money, so I can work for free, so I can't reply to personal attacks, so personal attacks can be thrown at me. Why did I put up with it? Couldn't be sales. The one-sided rules were in place BEFORE McRat Racing. It was because I was there to hang out with other diesel addicts and help them with their trucks if possible, I would be damned if I was going to let a couple snot nosed kids push me off a board that I spent more time on than they did.

Nick and Chad never posted significant tech on their own board, it was up to folk like us (there are many) to put the content up for them. In a form of cannabalism, they chased off member by member who Cole did not approve of. Most those who were insulted off the board just dropped off the internet entirely. It wasn't worth it to them.

But that is water under the bridge and cannot be undone. I'm not even sure Nick and Chad knew they were destroying the core of their board, since they really weren't that active of members. Their post counts were adjusted to give the illusion that they were active, but they weren't.
