I was surprised that the video lasted as long as it did.
I agree with MACKIN. Selling DP to a corporation was wrong:mad:.
MACKIN your avatar sucks:rofl:

I now have 12 diesel web sites to keep-up with...that also sucks:eek:

I'm done here. I can no longer tell who is right and don't have the free time to figure it out. That a luxury you must have I don't.

No offence to the McRats

What is there to figure out ?????

A person of Character and Integrity tells you the truth and you choose to beleive a sell-out and a known whore.....hey, take off them rosy glasses your wearing............:(

All the good guys that used to be there are banned because of either Steve Cole or Nick D'IckA'Mico or wonder-boy Chaddy............:p

You're over there working for free as a MOD wondering how to save the sinking site, good for you, I would be volunteering my "limited time" on a more worthy cause if I were you, buy hey, make AF wealthy if you want, they love sheople like you guys, no offense.

I spend my time with my family and helping out the truly needy where I can, like on Sunday instead of sitting on a worthless corporate run forum making some Canadian Company richer I was helping someone who needed it by directing people to park in a lot for a fundraiser for a 4 year old with STG-IV Neorobalstoma Cancer !!!

At least I'm helping a family who needs it not some thankless corporation.......;)

We raised over $11,400 but that is another story.

Well I can tell you who is right I AM!

Why?

Because if you look at my member number there you will see I was ONE of the first 10 to sign up. I also as Tony was a moderator. At one point I had all the same privileges of a Administrator ,trusted with that, and all that was taken away when Baby-Boy came on board. :D

I have no bones to pick with Nick with the exception of his approach to go along with the "team" Chad and RickD out of the blue show me the door. Also the way he sold the site out from under us. Sure he had MANY good reasons to do so because of personal life changes but I believe it was Baby-Boy who drove the nail into the coffin as Mommy cut the purse strings!

I seen it all I heard it all the truth is as I told you. Believe it if you'd like but remember there is ALWAYS two sides to every story. Of course Nick and Chad and RickD aren't going to tell you the 100% truth but I can because I'm 110% neutral!

I wont bother to get into the politics of the relationship between Steve Cole and the past site owners other than to say some things are true somethings aren't. It's neither here nor there at this point.

I'm not praising Steve Cole as I said I'm neutral.

Are Steve and Nick good friends absolutely. Can that friendship cause people to think more into it then it really was? Absolutely!

Can it make for poor judgment decisions ? You be the judge

What I witnessed for the most part things were handled to the best possible way. Most times ego's and personal issues came into play between parties and someone will always look at it as lopsided.

The bottom line on all of this is mistakes were made. The biggest one was selling the site to a advertisement conglomerate in the end. Like it or not it's over the fat lady has sung.

What the future holds there is just like any other of their sites. They are partners with Google and it will be smothered with advertisement as LONG standing vendors no longer support it.

As far as the root thoughts of this thread I believe that the Mcswains will be allowed back but for what? That is the question that needs a answer

Giving them results and or tech only lines the pockets of money hungry whores and IMO that isn't what the DP had in mind at it's inception to the World Wide Web. It quickly became what we hated so much a stifling none free group of enthusiast. From NO outside links to invasion of your privacy to control information available.

They will survive because there are PLENTY of people like you that know no history. Plenty of people will sign up down the road for the FREE information we all gave them that they took to the bank instead of the honorable thing and sold it to REAL enthusiast but someone needed a quick buck.

The glory days are over enjoy what we gave you to fight for. :hello:

First off, I am sorry about everything that transpired the last few days.

I feel compelled to address an issue that has been really bothering me, that was brought about by several fellow diesel enthusiasts. I have never met anyone on this forum, furthermore, I have never met the McSwain's. I do not know them. Therefore, I do not have any issues with them. From everything I have read the last few days, I am positive that the McSwain's are very nice people. If I did meet them, I am sure that we would be friends. That is the kind of person I am.

What really bothers me is that fellow diesel enthusiasts can make "off the cuff" statements and remarks that I have an AX to grind, and that I would dislike a person and be biased toward them, without even knowing them. I did what I did, let there be NO DOUBT! I thought what I did was correct, based on the current rules in place. I am here to say that I did not do anything on purpose to hurt or harm anyone in the diesel community. That was not my intent.

I was not around when "all the old stuff happened at the place." When I joined the DP, I had purchased my first diesel truck, and wanted more information on maintenance and to be informed on the individual characteristics of the Duramax. I am a staunch GM person! I do not race, pull, or do any of that kind of stuff with my truck, except use it for what it is, a work truck. I tow a trailer with it, and use it for any job that arises.

To Pat and Kat, I just want you to truly know that I did not do anything intentionally to hurt you or your site. I took a beating over there for simply doing my job. I was not privy to all of the "political stuff" that happened long before I was ever a member there! For anyone to even put me in that fight is wrong. I was stereotyped based on other people's actions, just because of the site I was moderating on. I guess I was just really naive when I joined. I did not understand all of the backroom politics going on.

Without going on any more, I am sorry that all this happened. The last thing I ever wanted to have happen was to cause turmoil in the GM Diesel World. This may be my only post here, but I felt a strong need to make a post here to address this issue.

Thank you

RI Chevy Silveradoman

Just so you know NO ONE is faulting you or singling you out. Your only doing as instructed to remove 'specific' outside links.

We're ONLY pointing out the ridiculousness of it because the history as to WHY the Mcswain's are being isolated. The rules and regulations there are in this instance deep into a PERSONAL agenda.

The board rules there are HARDLY fair and neutral in other words. If your not aware Pat pulled his vendor status due to the fact because he had this forum and they the past Admins had a problem with it and other issues I'm not getting into. If you look at other vendors there they also have support forums and also OTHER links to other sites are allowed.

The Garage, Comp Diesel. You have to ask yourself WHY? Well it's a personal issue between the PAST Admins still on staff there.

Once again I have no issues with ya.

No, we didn't think it was personal on your part, although the root cause of the situation was personal conflict between Nick/Chad/Steve and I. We can't tell when they are sending out orders and when they are not, but they certainly have used "middlemen" in the past to get unsavory tasks completed.

Links to this site were permitted for nearly two years, and only after we changed the domain from McRatRacing.com to DuramaxDiesels.com, did the policy of no external links get enforced.

Like I posted early, we hosted many videos and pictures for members of TDP on our webserver (this site).

And like I said, everyone who is diesel addict is welcome here, whether I agree with them or not. Not because I'm whoring for new members, but because too many sites exclude diesel hotrodders now for political reasons. I could understand banning someone for buying a Prius, but not for arguing about turbochargers.

Pat:

I can only speak for myself. I never received any orders from anyone to sensor you or your site. Maybe I was a little naive. I never really visited the racing threads or high performance threads that most of you guys post in. I was just taught to follow the rules of the site.

Mackin:

I know the root of the issue wasn't personal against me. I just feel like ass because of all this. I think my steam has runneth out. I am not sure how much fight I have left in me. What irks me more is the lack of support from high up. I went 15 rounds with very little support. I have been listening closely to what you abd all of the original members at the DP have been saying, as I respect my elders very dearly. It is the way I was brought up.

Thanks again.

thats exactly what they are talking about. they let you guys get beaten and battered and then when they are done with you and have no use for you they just let you go. is it worth it? being a member and getting to sit back and watch is much more fun then being the target. i feel for ya man.

While it doesn't really matter at this point, the reason the links to TDG and CompD are allowed is because they are not competing sites, i.e. they aren't Duramax (or GM) specific sites. Yes, they do have Duramax discussion, but they don't specialize in it. I can tell you there are 2 or 3 other Duramax sites that I removed links to when I was a mod. Like RI Silveradoman, I was just doing my job. Supposedly the problem with Pat's site and DP came when this site was reformatted to be more than a customer support website and the name was changed. It was viewed as a threat by Nick and Chad (or at least that's what we were told), and action had to be taken. It is true that several of the vendors do have customer support forums, but most of them are limited to a customer support type function. I can, however, think of at least one off the top of my head that is at least as broad in it's Duramax discussion, if not more so, as this site, and yet AFAIK, he is still a vendor on DP. That's where the double standard comes in.

Man oh man truth be told EVERY site was considered a threat at one point but there was more to it when it came to this particular site. They didn't like Pat and were looking for ANY excuse. The TDG was NEVER allowed as was the Diesel Page. CompD well they're buddies over there.

Bottom line it should be all or NONE! That would be fair and equal justice IMO. The DieselPage is GM specific is it not? Yes at one time it was voodoo to post a link or EVEN bring them up. GM-Diesel is GM specific. There was NEVER a problem with them. You tell me that there wasn't more than what was written.

I could careless honestly just ,well,

Doesen't matter anymore what matters is RickD is mad at me for outing him. Sleepless nights lay ahead for me I tell you.

I can only tell you how things were when I was on the staff (which was during the time that McRat lost his vendor status), and I can tell you that if it was not GM diesel specific, it was okay. If it was GM diesel specific or if it was a non supporting vendor link (meaning they sold stuff on their website; ebay was a touchy subject), it was deleted.

I do agree the rule is antiquated and should be removed. The biggest threat to DP for loss of membership is the DP itself. They are pushing members away, or at least that's how it seems to me.

I really couldn't care less either. I go mostly to check out the results forum, and maybe peruse a few of the performance technical forums.

The reason DP didn't like Pat is that he was going out and making an LLY run when the powers that be said it would never make more than 400 RWHP.......:D

EFI-Live, supported by McRat Racing was making progress as were others threatening the powers that be.

It all came down to eliminating the racing competition and the web site competition..........

Three people caused the mess, and they still have dirty hands.....................and that dirty isn't going to wash off easily.

It was funny how a simple little grudge race in 2005 turned into WWIII when Cole got his ass handed to him by a PPE tuner stack.

Looking back on it, maybe I should have let him win. Then everyone would still be awaiting on the LLY PowerLoader 3.

He claimed he left the Allison in the 3 position and that's why you won. Wish you would have left Casper in 3 cause you still would have handed him his ass. I told you way back then that I drove his LLY extreme tune and wasn't impressed

Now I have a axe to grind;)

well i have read threw this forum for a couple of hours so far and i must say i love it!!!!.
I dont know much about what went on back then with the site but it has bleed into now and make the site not very pleasant to be on, i really hate when some starts a thread and some numb nutz tells them to go search its so stupid if no one ever started a new thread then there would be no search feature plain and simple but u hear it every day,

the site politic has caused me to seek a better site to hang out at and i think i have found a new place to linger like a nasty fart:hug: . i have noticed the tech threads are more in depth and and theres more pics on each on instead of a pissing contest going on. i got sick of it real quick, i go where ever i can find more knowledge,

There is alot of cheerleading going on over there and it gets lame after a while , people should be more worried about who makes the best product for the money not who makes it , im sorry but if some other company than site sponsor makes a turbo thats better im gonna go with them not the site sponsor ,but u wont see that over there . anyways im glad to join this site and plan on sticking around for a while

and to the mcrats casper is one sick ass truck , loved the vids
