Customers will know that our software is bullet proof when they hear about your testing stories. In all seriousness though, it has to be done, tried and tested and beta is the perfect place for it (even if it does raise Ross's blood pressure)

so now the lml can be scanned again? im trying to download this i hate updating shit its confusing to me :mad: also can i use v7 to scan cummins trucks or is it jus v8 which i never use???? does version 8 need different licenses?? or can i say use v8 to mess with my tuning that is done with verson 7??? sorry im just getting lost in all this

i must of misunderstood
You can read it, but you can't see anything. You won't have any tables available to look at. You can see the OS and other ECM information but no tuning parameters.

i was under the impression you just wouldn't be able to make any changes to the calibrations

guess ill have to wait a little.

:mad: well i di the updates now my damn v2 is stuck in demo mode wtf???? if i mod a file an go to open a new one rather then saying do you wish to save changes to so an so file it says im in demo mode changes will be discarded dont want to even try flashing anything wtf is going on updating this thing is a joke:mad:.

on edit :if i manually go to save it seems save??????? now should i risk a flash or not

Actually, in V7 just select LBZ or LMM and it will work.

Josh explained it correctly. You can read and save, and then please email them to us. We are expecting to have to map somewhere between 20-30 OS's so the more with gather before release, the more customers that will be happy the day they go to tune their truck.

Demo mode is caused by incorrect registration details in the EFILive software. Double check your registration details and pay particular attention to the date format.

When you have FlashScan connected to your PC, the details in FlashScan override the EFILive registration details, so you are right to flash.

Whilst I understand your frustration around updating software and firmware, it's a necessary evil. Customers want a tool that can be enhanced in the field, and that can add support for vehicles as they are released. They don't want to continually purchase new hardware or send units away for upgrading purposes.

Are you guys using boostfoolers on your Duramaxes?

I was sitting here thinking (daydreaming really:D) about scanning my truck before I tune. Now I'm not sure how it works exactly, but I'm imagining you plug the V2 into the OBD and it reads whatever your ECM is seeing, and then those values you see (in a chart??) on your laptop. But, we use boostfoolers to fool the ECM, so those values would be scewed correct?

Or can y'all program around that? Bobo was saying elsewhere that you can adjust the minimum and maximum trips for CELs, does that include throwing a code? Does EFI tuning allow for adjusting defuel (like the factory defuels at xx boost or rail...)?

And exactly how do you scan? Just drive around and it makes a nice graph on the laptop or does it just log minimum, maximum, and average values? I may have seen a pic of a scan before and not realized it.

Sorry for the ton of questions, I'm trying to dig this stuff up myself without a ton of success.

Or is all of this what I'm seeing on page 1?

In a Duramax, there are tables for desired boost pressure and desired rail pressure. The ECM will typically only defuel or go into limp mode if it is too far away from the desired value. The only exception to that I can think of is if the boost sensor is maxed out it will sometimes throw a boost sensor circuit high code. If you have a code that can't be adjusted, it can be turned off. That isn't the preferred method, but sometimes there isn't much choice.

I may have seen a pic of a scan before and not realized it.When you scan, you connect to the truck, select the PIDs, and start recording. You drive around, and the scan tool records everything. When you're done, you can go back home and replay it in real time. You can look at the raw data in a chart or you can use a dashboard. Probably the most common method of viewing the data is dashboard B. It is a graph type display that can display up to 16 different parameters at the same time.

Keep in mind the Cummins software is still in development, and the way things work with it may be different from the way it works with the Duramax.
