Hotrodder, you told us that you were going to send the heads in as soon as you got them off the engine. We have never seen them! You say you don't have $100.00 for a phone call to us. We in fact have a Toll Free Number that you have called before. 1-800-955-0476 it works even in Canada. If you have a problem with us then you should call us. This BASHING of us at II is very convienient. You have to drink to get the courage to say these things when you know they are wrong. Send the heads and your injectors in by all means. You can use our UPS account if that helps.

A toll free number that leads to dropped calls lol, been there man. I`m as sober as it gets sitting here tonight, should I repeat everything I`ve said to make it credible?? Because I will. Hey after all II supports drinking lol you sell shot glasses hahaha.

I`m looking out for other Duramax owners that want or need performance work Brady.

Your saying that I`m saying stuff that is wrong here??? LMFAO 100 and 10 percent true story, everybit of it Brady. Nobody could make this shit up.

I already got rid of the injectors and went back to stock until I have the coin for a quality set of 100 overs from a real diesel fuel injection company.

My truck is togather at the present time, its my only means of transportation, I heard somebody from II says I should check my tuning, yeah because a tune will continuously cause #7 cylinder to crack a exhaust port in two different cnc ported heads lol. I`m smarter than you seam to think I am Brady, I know my truck like the back of my hand.

Something was neglected with this motor I bought, somewhere along the chain of events it all went bad, I`ll never knock II`s marketing team, they do a hell of a job! The quality of engine assembly and general mechanical know how??? not so much, leaves a little left to be desired for sure.

If your making phone calls looking for me at DPS you wont find me, I do not work there as I have previously stated, use to but not anymore so that will save you some long distance in the future.

At the end of the day all I want is to see other dmax owners get quality parts and service. Maybe your company has upped there quality since my dealings, maybe not. Just remember to clock the solenoid bodies of the injectors properly and always always always install head gaskets in the correct manner and your ratings should improve slowly but surely. :thumb:

X2, those of us that do this for a living and have a conscious avoid companies like this for a reason. I refuse to sell II products becuase they have been nothing but problems for us. You can stand behind your sorry ass excuses and blame the tuning and everyone else but the truth hurts. You need to spend some time on quality control.

these trucks seem to be a pain to build... no matter who you deal with. we spend lots of money on parts and the like to get very little in return. everyone has diffrent ways of doing things... sometimes it works and sometimes it dont... if brady is willing to work with you on getting this fixed.. give him the chance to.. II could not be as big as they are if they kept selling bad parts

I have to disagree with you. Not everyone building engine and trucks are on these forums and get to see the truth about crappy companies like II. Now II has some of the best marketing going that I've seen from any company, if they put a 10th of the that budget into quality control they would probably have a 10th as many of us on here that have been screwed by them. Don't get me wrong the guys are really nice and appear on the outside like they want to help make things right, just wait until you get bad injectors installed twice after they "tried" to make things right. I've purchased plenty of quality parts from lots of companies and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from them again, so I don't think these trucks are that hard to build as long as you're working with quality people!

yeah, i see your point but it seems like sometimes places are hit and miss.. there are some people on here that like to rant and rave about a few shops... an ive had nothing but trouble with them... Ive never delt with II so i dont have a dog in the fight here... i just know how it is to try and deal with some shops that like to make all these claims and makes things sound good, to only to be let down... i guess maybe others are better at calling b.s. then me. im just saying, i know theres alot of money on the line here... if they are trying to make it right then let them...

I agree with you in principle, mistakes do happen and if the company makes it right then I'm right there with you. The problem is II likes to claim they're trying to make things right, opposed to actually doing it. As for other companies, ya lots of mistakes and accidents happen, probably to many!

Whether it is any help to the readers, we used SoCalDiesel heads at Bonneville, where you stand on it for a long time.

Head cracks weren't ever an issue. Pistons retired us both years.

...I also told you that nothing in this diesel world seems to be a big deal until its on the internet, this is just another prime example of that.

The importance of any issue regarding failures shouldn't be dictated by the internet but by the people in or near direct connection to the pieces, and maybe other concerning gearheads. The speed of news on the internet is however pretty swift.

Engine or engine part failure is a meticulous process. Many many variables must be taken into view. Anything will crack at some point if the material elasticity (lack of adequate material) isn't there to prevent any damage due to temperature or movement distortions etc. Being the early years of diesel performance there will be times where products won't survive just like in the years after WW2 with the gasser mills, trial and error will show what can be done and who gets the concept set in stone on designs. Granted, misfortunes will come and go but but like mentioned before in ANY profession quality will always poke its head out good or bad. I was raised on design things the easiest but not costing you strength or wear rates of whatever it may be. Its like a service shop, come backs are the worst thing known. A customer can be gained through good trusting customer service which could take a while but can be lost with one sentance said wrong or a terrible attitude presented.

If someone offers to resolve the problem, that choice to go ahead with a repair is also dictated by how the customer views the person or company they dealt with on the product. Giving the chance to the company can restore their perception on their products and whats needed to change as well as restoring the customer's perception on them. It can go two ways with different end results from that, period.

Like stated earlier, nothing is perfect, nobody is perfect albeit if someone is a mechanic for a particular brand I hope they know the stuff like the back of their hand because not knowing exactly, who do you go to for top notch tech knowledge? Only the hardest working, honest people male or female that take their job serious and enjoyable. The thing I can't stand is not asking and making sure of things, I don't care how old someone is or how many engines, axles or transmissions they have 'worked on', if you don't get the picture straight forward and jepordize a reputation of someone thats just negligence on that person's part.

Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work.
Aristotle

If things don't get put together correctly, thats just plain NOT PAYING ATTENTION or even not caring. Simple as that. Sorry to hear the misfortune, hope the problem is resolved and hope you get your job back, if you haven't already.

With all the errors in the assembly of my crate motor let alone the port issues, somebody definately wasnt caring about what they were doing.

I`m back to work, actually happy to not be working at the performance shop anymore. (Installing cheesy tuners and exhaust gets boring as all hel!! LOL) Working in the GM dealership again lets me have more time for my own truck and I actually enjoy this hobby again. I know I could be happy in a performance shop just not the one I was working in......

Maybe I missed it somewhere? Is there a reason you won't send the cracked head back to II? From what I read they are waiting for it...

Yep, I`m tired of dealing with them for several reasons. Its all throughout this thread, started the day I opened the crate, you loose faith in a company after this many issues. IMHO.
