If you really had to you could reverse the rotation with a longer belt and adding a idler pulley next to the pump. would also need to remove the ribs in the pump pulley since the back side of the belt would drive it.

Thats what I was gonna say but then he would have even more of clearance issues with the hood. How well does that fit under the hood anyway, looks like you need a tear drop hood as it is... or no hood lol

Don't be worried Bosch has cp3s that have the same exact internal parts and turn clockwise and counter clockwise on many applications. It will work just fine.
