The arrangement for two cp3.4s I remember seeing was either a mount or a completely different front case that mounted both side by side with one in similar spot to todd's & the other towards to pass side of the truck. It obviously no longer had AC & I think the alt was relocated down lower iirc.

It's been a few years tho since I seen that setup. I wanna say Greg Hogue had posted pics of it somewhere.

Where would you mount the 2nd one?

Nick you are thinking about this all wrong. need to see the glass half full my friend

Mika said he was going to make a billet front cover. could mount it where the AC is could make a coustom bracket maybe for where you mount duals already. im sure if you had the money you could mount it a few places.

They call it a CP4 and according to my latest Diesel Power mag it needs to be timed to the crank and cam. Why?

The lml and lgh use a denso pump and probably is of the hp2 hp3 family. The reason I heard for timing the pump is to minimize rail pressure pulsation by placing the piston stroke near injection pulses.

Nope & yes me too :D
I left it so I can always put the one back in the valley also when I need more fuel

That looks awesome Todd!:thumb::thumb::thumb: Is there any sort of different controller you need for it or do you just adjust your rail current like you would a modded CP3? Harness adapters or anything needed?

I would like to see a custom front cover someday that would swap the stock CP3 location with the A/C so a guy could do something like Mika was talking about but keep the A/C and still use the CP3.4.

hmmmm.. I stand corrected, the pump is a bosch unit. it is a two chamber pump and it appears very similar to the denso hp2/3 design.

from the lml lgh update training participant guide

 The two-chamber design matches
peak pressure pulses from the pump
to the injection events.
 Matching pressure pulses decreases
peak pressure variation within the
fuel rails.
 The pump must be timed if it is
removed or replaced
