I have never seen a 2 peice down pipe , and as was stated it should have came with a metal tube................ 4" dia .............75-90 deg bend on said pipe for the intake ?

Edit : just checked out the BD install PDF for LBZ and they re-use the stock intake peice and V-band .

http://www.dieselperformance.com/productManual/1046210-15_-_Duramax_Supermax_Turbo_LLY_LBZ.pdf

Yeah i printed out that to help me with the install then read the directions from HTT's manual and their totally different.

i'll grab a pic of the downpipe, pretty neat actually. but no intake hose, the only silicone boot I got was some POS 1" half assed cut boot that goes where..??

have you seen Bens DIY on the HTT install? we used that for my 4094 and it helped a lot.

I keep forgetting that the LBZ intake manifold is quite different. You would have to change everything from the intake runner back to do what I'm thinking.

It worked really slick on my truck though. An LB7 Y-bridge and I used an LB7 pass. side intercooler pipe plus some custom shiot to hook it up. An LB7 pass. side up-pipe to ditch the rest of the EGR. And then the 4" tube provided plus the stock intake tube and an AFE stage 2 box. Clean and works good.

Dunno what it would take to do that on an LBZ, or if you would even want to.

Talked to HTT today, overnighting me the turbo studs and bolts. They also said that the 1" wide 4" ID silicone boot was to be used with the oem lbz mouthpiece??? I dont get that but guess i'll try it.

That silicone tube might be used to connect the the end of the mouthpiece onto the rest of the intake tube?

Yeah thats what they said, but i cant see how it would fit with a v-band?

Havin Mike L send me a drivers side dipstick for a little more room to fit the 4" DP.

THats odd both "bd" install kits ive gotten had a drivers side tube with them one was an htt turbo and the other a II turbo.

Just an FYI, Maybe they for got it as well as the bolts, The htt kit i got had two sets of bolts/studs in it as well??

Interesting. HTT said they "did away" with the drivers side dipsticks because of "fitment issues" on the LLY + kits and to "re-shape" the oem... I literally got a box of parts, no sealed bags. Im not pissed, but think it should come with everything in the picture...

I got a box of parts too. There were alot that I didn`t use and I had to get a few extra`s to do up the oil feed line. Just to connect the line to the turbo I had to make my own 90°.

Thanks god HTT `did away`with that piece of shiot dipstick. The stock dipstick works just fine. Just remove the mount and when you re insert it push it up by the AC condensor and put a tab on it and bolt it to the firewall or zip tie it or whatever. It works fine.

I effed around with that stupid driver side dipstick for atleast 2-3 hours. I tweaked it every which way. I was so angry at it, especially after I destroyed the seal that goes into the tranny. Finally I was so pissed I folded it in half and rifled it in the garbage. Then I fit the stock one back in no problem.

Did you inquire whether the LB7 or LLY kit is different. Maybe you could use the parts from those kits to make it happen if it doesn`t work out with what you got.

I wonder if the Mike L driver dipstick is the same as BD's??? Maybe ? I dunno.

I broke the taps off my oem dipstick anyways so 70 for a dipstick that will make some more room for the downpipe didnt seem bad to me.

I still use the passenger side DS with my 4" DP and 76mm turbo.

Huh, maybe they did do away with it, when i got the II kit in august for my wifes truck it had one with it, I though it fit nice on that side, no issues. i had to make a turbo inlet for it i used a 3.5" "snow melter" exhaust tip and 3/4" peice of 4" exhaust pipe, welded the the 4" over the bend of the tip, cut the tip off and it fit great!
